Yesterday afternoon Shelley, Alison and I went to this beautiful old house to take some photos for my Marta Locklear workshop. It was cold and windy but they were troopers for me the whole time. As I was editing these I was just stunned at how beautifully both of these girls photograph. They both did such a great job. Thanks ladies! Here are a few of my favorites… and it was hard to choose because I really love a ton of them!

On Monday I had a session with this sweet little girl, Bronwyn. She was a little bit older than I normally like for newborns, so not quite as curly and sleepy, but soooo cute! Here are a few from our session together.

Today I had another assignment for my Marta Locklear workshop. I had to shoot something from 10 different angles to try to get as many different perspectives on the same item without moving it. It was fun to just mess around and go all out on my processing and textures! Here’s a few of my fave’s.

It was so nice out today I got everyone dressed and dragged them out into the snow for yet another workshop project. You’ll be seeing a lot of these for the next week or so while I’m doing this workshop. Gabe did a amazing job of being my model today! I got a few that are my new favorites of my favorite boys.

Nearly 6 years ago I met this guy at the dog park in Vancouver. He was very cool, not at all interested in me… I thought he was cute, and I was single, so I suddenly became very interested in my dog getting enough exercise. After a few weeks of me stalking him he caved to my obvious charms and it’s been us against the world ever since. Six years later and I still think he’s the perfect man for me. I needed a model for the workshop I’m doing and guess who did it without even complaining? Yep, my handsome hubby. Love you babe.

I just started an online workshop with an amazing photographer, Marta Locklear. I love her style and as a “I appreciate all you do” gift John bought me a spot in her workshop. Yes, he is a wonderful husband! Our first assignment was to do a self portrait. Well, anyone who knows me knows that I HATE being in front of the camera. I always make this dumb face, and even though I know I make it I still do it! So, having to do a self portrait was hard to say the least. In the end I think I got a few fun ones though. I had to do 3 self portraits in different settings. I feel like each one of these show a different side of me and my style.

The first one is just me, clean and simple. The second one shows my love of color and texture, which is always an important part of my photography. The last one shows me as a photographer and artist.

Last week I had the chance to photograph twins for the second time, and I have to admit I was pretty nervous! Twins are hard at the best of times, but these little sweeties were in between the newborn, sleepy phase and the giggly, happy phase that I usually like to photograph babies. It ended up being a great session and I just love how big sis is snuggling one of her baby sisters. Such a sweet moment

It is so not fair. Why is it it takes me 6 months to resemble anything like I did before I had a baby, and some people look like this  a week after? Good thing she’s one of my best friends or I’d have to hate her:) And then there’s our precious little Sydney and Owen, too cute for their own good!

I love the look on a mom’s face with her new little baby. Somehow it doesn’t matter that there’s been no sleep, lots of messes and a little crying. There always seems to be a special sparkle in her eyes…
