Beginning at the end of February, Toyota will send letters out to all affected Prius owners, notifying them of the brake defect. The repair, Toyota said, will involve a simple, 30-minute installation of new anti-lock brake software.

This Toyota recall issue is completely different from the issue of unexpected acceleration, which affects 2.3 million Toyota cars because of sticking accelerator pedals. The 2010 Prius model is not included in the unexpected acceleration recall. This is only a problem with the anti-lock brakes which, Toyota has claimed, can easily be fixed.
