My holiday weekend has been really nice (:
I had a nap and some times to myself Thursday evening. David and Amy and Devon went to see The Hulk and Hancock. I spent the evening talking online and reading. It was nice and relaxing.
Friday was the 4th. We got up around 8 and David immediately put on the movie Independence Day. After the movie we both showered and then headed over to my parents' for a BBQ. The usual crowd was there and we all stayed for quite a while. Upon getting home, David put on Transformers (my choice, it just feels like a 4th of July movie because of its release date!) and we relaxed. After that came 4 episodes of Coupling season 4. We finally headed into bed around 11.
Saturday was a lazy, lazy day. We watched the last 2 episodes of Coupling. And I'm sorry, Oliver was okay but he was a poor substitute for Jeff. We also watched 27 Dresses and Fool's Gold and 10 episodes of Ouran High School Host Club. The people above us were loud and obnoxious and even though we went to bed around 11:30, we didn't fall asleep until they quieted down around 1:30 /:
I was up about 7:45 this morning and showered right away. My dad picked me up at 8:45 and spent the morning together. My Father's Day gift to him was my presence! We spent the majority of the time wandering around Valley Forge. We walked around the area surrounding Washington's Headquarters and then went to the Chapel. We walked down behind it and saw the cemetery which I didn't know was there. We walked through it and eventually came out by the Defender's Gate. Walked back to the Memorial and then headed to the Visitor's Center. We very much enjoyed the air conditioning! Next stop was the Arch. Found out that there are two rooms at the top so we walked around it a bit trying to figure out how to get in those rooms. After that we went over to the Riverside Cemetery to see the old gravestones. Our last stop was the Valley Forge Ale House for lunch. I had a really great time with him (:
Once Dad dropped me off at home, I went straight for a nap. I haven't walked that much in ages. I slept for nearly 2.5 hours and when I got up David was still watching Naruto (just where I left him when I laid down). I played around for a bit on the computer while he continued watching Naruto. He finished the disc he was on and then we switched over to Ouran High School Host Club. I'm happy (sad) to say that we finished the series! This was my second time watching it and I think I've added a new pairing. Originally I was strictly HaruhixHikaru shipper. Now I've added TamakixKyouya to my list. And, if you press enough, I'll even say HikaruxHaruhixKaoru. It's a Haruhi & Twin sandwich!
Back to work tomorrow. While I'm not looking forward so much to work, Amy is coming over afterwards and we're going swimming! It'll be my first time in the apartment pool because I don't want to go by myself and David won't go with me.
And now it's my bedtime. Even with the long nap, I'm still pretty darn tired right now.
Dave Turtzo just told me that I get mad the same way he thinks Angela Lansbury would get mad.
This greatly amused me (:
All because I said I was pissed that when people post count down things on ONTD, sometimes they post #1 first and go down instead of #20 to #1.
I want a castle.
Yesterday was just about one of the most perfect days I've ever had (: (: (:
When I woke up yesterday, I didn't want to get up because of how perfect it felt. I was in a comfortable bed with David next to me. We were using a very pretty Cherry blossom-esque sheet that was perfect against the low setting of the fan. The sun coming in from the window illuminated the room so that it wasn't over bright but was just pleasant. The birds were singing outside but it wasn't loud, it was pretty nice.
I got up around 9 and made myself shower right away. Then I lazied about for a bit before dressing and heading out to the bank. I went through the bank drive through! My first time! In my 10 years of driving, I've only been through a fast food drive through twice. I don't know what it is about them, but something weirds me out /:
I gave Amy a call when I was done at the bank and she came over to tell us about her trip to Japan and give us presents. I also showed you a few minutes of the last episode of season 3 of Coupling. She laughed a lot and said she'd like to watch all of it. Then we packed ourselves into Amy's car and headed over to the mall for lunch. Yay for Philadelphia rolls! Boo to that octopus thing I tried. I couldn't even bit through it /:
Earlier in the week Amy asked if I'd go see The Hulk with her. I said that I had no interest and that she could ask David to go. I somehow agreed to go but said it had to wait until Friday because I didn't have money to go to the movies. She said if we weren't going until Friday then she wanted to see Wanted. I had no interest in the movie but I said I'd go see it. I don't know, the preview made it look like just another action movie. But it was pretty darn amusing too. It was mostly an action film but not totally over the top (ok, maybe the train scene was). I was also amazed that Amy picked out Konstantin Khabensky as The Exterminator. Neither David nor I recognized him at first. And even after Amy said "Hey, isn't that the guy from Day Watch?" I didn't think it was! Then I got a good look at his face and was like, "omgwtfbbq, it is!" So that made the movie experience that much better. Wanted was directed by the same guy who did Night Watch and Day Watch (Nochnoy Dozor and Dnevnoy Dozor respectively). There's a third movie called Twilight Watch (or Dusk Watch, whatever). I'm hoping if Wanted does well, then the third Watch movie will have a better theatrical release here in the US.
After the movie David and I came back to the apartment to relax a bit before going out to dinner. At 5:30 his dad called to say he was in the parking lot. David and I followed him to the restaurant in Lansdale. It was a nice little Italian place that's only open on the weekend. We were having dinner there with his dad, step-mom and his grandparents for his dad's birthday. We all enjoyed our food, but I think David and I got the best dessert, a piece of their "Dark Side of the Moon" chocolate cake. It was pretty darn yummy.
The place where David's grandparents live have a few Wiis. Seriously, there are people who still can't buy one and this place has at least 3! There's a really nice game room that has a Wii, an air hockey table, ping pong table, 3 pool tables, a shuffleboard game, and tables for puzzles or card games. This place is better than a resort hotel! I played 3 bowling games on the Wii and won each game. Though David's grandfather was a fierce competitor and gave me a run for my money! Laura (David's step-mom) got a good ping pong volley going on. David and I... not so much. We finally parted ways around 9:30.
David and I listened to a lot of MSI in the car. We talked about our concert experiences and the songs/albums we each like. MSI is a good bonding thing (:
Once we got home, I did a jigsaw puzzle on Gaia and David played on his computer. He went into bed before I did to read and I followed not too long after.
Thus ended my perfect day (:
Just got back from seeing Wanted with Amy and David. It's a funny action movie but more action than funny. I'm glad I saw it!
An unexpected bonus is that Konstantin Khabensky is in it!
Friday, June 20th Actually, there was nothing worth writing about for this day. I worked, I came home and had a nap. I don't remember how I spent the rest of the evening. David might have gone out with his friends?
Saturday, June 21st I went into work for a little bit and left when my portable dvd player crapped out. I think I've had this player for 5-6 years and I think it's time for a new one. I'll be asking for a region free one for Christmas. Mom and I went out shopping after I left work. I got 2 pairs of shorts (one pair that my mom bought for me), two shirts (one dressy and one summer tank top) and a pair of shoes from Fashion Bug. We also went to KMart (I bought underwear) and the dollar store (Mom bought me Ssips (not a mis-type) juice drink) and then stopped at Palemo's (or something) for dinner. I hung out at my parents' for a bit before heading home.
David and I started watching The Bucket List and then Scott called. He came over for a bit. There was talking and movie watching. We finished The Bucket List and got through Secondhand Lions. David went out with his friends before Secondhand Lions was over. Scott left around 10 and David & his friends came home around 10:30. They kinda freaked me out. David sent me a text message at 9:50 saying not to wait up for him. So I went to bed and I was kind of asleep but not really and I heard the bathroom door close. I thought I was alone so hearing the door was creepy.
I stayed up until around 1 with them and then headed off to bed. David came in around 4:30 and told me that Nick, Devon and Dave were all staying over.
Sunday, June 22nd. I was up around 8, David was up around 8:45/9 and Dave T was up around 9:15/9:30 and was out the door almost right away to go to work. Devon and Nick both slept until 12-ish. Not too much was accomplished. Nick and I ran out to PVille to get pizza from TD Alfredo's as the two pizza shops in KofP are closed on Sundays. Dave T came back when he was done work. We all watched Bubba Ho-Tep and another movie that I can't remember. The 3 boys finally left around 10:30 and the apartment was so nice and peaceful!
Monday-Thursday Mostly just work.
Friday, today! While at work I found out that my debit card had been canceled. So I took an early lunch to get it replaced as it would suck to go through the weekend without it.
David is up in NY at his third Mindless Self Indulgence concert this year. I was invited to go too but I didn't want to take a day off work. Plus, I hate traveling for concerts. It's too much effort. I asked David to call me while they're playing so I can hear them. And I asked for a concert shirt.
I haven't done much this evening. Mostly just lurked around the internet. Actually, that's all I've done. And I've been listening to MSI all evening.
Tomorrow should be a good day. I'm seeing Amy and at least one movie (Wanted) if not two (Wall-E). There will also be dinner with David's family for his dad's birthday. Yay, free good food!
One of the saddest things I've watched..
Seeing as this week is nearly over, I should write about the past 6 or so days.
Friday, June 6th. Work as usual. Headed over to see sascha one more time before she left for England again. It was a short hour long visit, but was pleasant (: Afterwards I headed home, changed my clothes and met up with omizu at the mall. She followed me home for dinner. maxcomp made yummy pork chops with rosemary and used the George Forman grill to cook them. He's such a great cook and I love whenever he makes dinner! He's so much more creative and clever about cooking than I am. Amy left after a bit and then David and I headed over to pratheon's to help him celebrate his birthday. Devon also joined us and the 4 of us enjoyed a really tasty chocolate cake with fudge icing from Acme. We then headed out to the Lower Providence fair and had a good time there. Yay for the Tilt-A-Whirl! Nick went on many rides, David and Devon did 2 or 3 each and I only did the one. One of the best parts was while Nick and Devon were on a ride, the ride operator put on the Numa Numa song!
Saturday, June 7th It was hot. David and I went to Ikea in the morning and I bought the Dave laptop stand (among other things). randomwolfe came over around 2 and we watched 8 episodes of Lost season 4. David made pasta for dinner. In between episodes, Jode and I headed to Acme to get our own chocolate cake with fudge icing. If I weren't so hell bent on having it, I probably would have put it down after seeing the $24 price tag. When we (I) couldn't take any more Lost, we switched over to Coupling season 2. David went to bed and Jode and I talked until midnight.
Sunday, June 8th. Hot, again. David and I watched much Sex & The City. Sometime in the evening his friends came over. Nick, Devon, Dave T, Peevy, David and me.. in the heat with no air conditioning. Ugh. I escaped to the bedroom, closed the door and turned on the a/c unit for that room. I started reading the latest Southern Vampire book, From Dead to Worse. At some point the boys left and I continued to read. I surprised David by still being up and reading when he came home around 10:30. He came back by himself but Nick was coming back over. He was a sweetie and brought me mcnuggets. All in all, I stayed up reading until 1 and then had a bit of trouble falling asleep.
Monday, June 9th. More heat. I decided not to go to work after not getting a good night's sleep. I slept until 10 and then headed down to my sister's. Bobby was at school but I had a nice lunch with Tina and Lizzie. Headed home right away. David and I watched even more Sex & The City. We're nearly to the end of season 4.
Tuesday, June 10th. Heat. Birds had dive bombed my car and it looked horrible. After work I took it to get washed. The girl who works there is awesome and she hand cleaned the bird poo that the automatic washer didn't get. I put $10 in the tip box. Made it home in a reasonable amount of time. Our power went out about 7:30 so we lit candles and talked a bit before finding ways to read. David used candle light and I used a flashlight to start on Personal Demon by Kelley Armstrong. We headed to bed not too much later.
Wednesday, June 11th. Less heat. Our power came back on around 10:30/11 AM. After work I finished reading Personal Demon. Didn't care for it as much as the other books. It didn't seem as epic as the other Otherworld books and had too much sex in it for as short as it was. David and I also finished off season 2 of Coupling.
Thursday, June 12th. Weather was beautiful today. I wore my favorite long skirt to work today. I love the way it feels around my ankles when I walk. pandacuddles called me after work. I told her that my biopsy results came back as the bumps being benign. But I have to have the biopsy done again in a year. Blargh. David and I watched the Top Chef finale and then headed over to Borders. I picked up the newest re-release of Charlaine Harris' Aurora Teagarden series and the 3rd book of another series. I also saw two other books that I want but am making myself wait to get. One of them is Simon R Green's Man With the Golden Torc (or something like that). I love his books. DSW was calling my name so we headed there next and I picked up a pair of jelly shoes that are totally cute and I can't wait to wear.
And now here I am. To right this moment. David is playing Hellgate and I'm typing this. I'll be headed off to bed after this. Can't wait to get through tomorrow's work day. Yay for Friday!
I had some nodules on my thyroid biopsied today. I'm really glad I didn't know what the procedure entailed going in to it. My neck is still very tender to the touch and I hope I can find a comfortable position to sleep in tonight. But still.. 10 minutes of needles being stuck in my neck is worth knowing if the nodules are cancerous.
In other health news, I finally seem to have shook the cold/sore throat that lasted nearly 5 weeks.
Work.. still staying late 2 or 3 nights a week. I haven't been going in on the weekend. Don't want to, can't make me.
Been spending more time with randomwolfe which has been nice. We watch lots of tv. I've exposed him to Coupling! (Jack Davenport.. *droool*) Jode'll be over this weekend to start on Lost season 3. I really cannot wait to show him season 4!
David and I have been watching an extraordinary amount of tv lately. We've been watching Coupling, Eureka and Sex & The City. David and his mom gave me the big, fuzzy, pink S&TC boxset for my birthday (:
Seeing as I started this post 40 minutes and this is as far as I've gotten, I'm just going to end with a picture I took earlier this evening.
Sadly I couldn't get the other Dave in the picture, but here is (left to right) my David, Devon and Nick..

Amy gave me one of the best birthday presents evar..
Commoner coffee!!!

You know you're close to someone when you share nasal spray.
Yay for $10 airfare to Vegas!
Yay for comped hotel rooms!
Yay weekend! Though I'm tempted to get up at my regular time tomorrow to do laundry. There shouldn't be anyone using the washers/dryers at 6:30 in the morning, right?
That probably won't happen though.
So I didn't get my car back on Thursday. The body shop ordered a factory new part for me and it just came in on Thursday. I should be getting my car Monday or Tuesday. In light of that news, I called the rental agency and asked if I could switch cars. They gave me a Nissan Sentra which I love! I nearly got a Nissan Rogue, but that fell through ):
After working tomorrow, I'll have 6.5 hours of overtime for the week. Hopefully do another 5 next week which will give me 11.5 hours over time for the pay period. Yay money! Boo being tired as f**k by the end of the week. But, money. Which is good. And necessary.
I remember the first time I saw MSI perform live, the next 2 months the only music I listened to in the car was theirs. This didn't happen the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time I saw them. But now I'm finding great delight in finding youtube videos of live performances. "Right now. As we speak, somewhere out there in the world, Method Man is getting a pedicure. He's having his nails done. And the asian lady is asking him if he wants unicorns or musical notes. And he says, 'I come to bring the pain... '. " (I think that's how the quote thing works.) Bring the Pain is my favorite MSI song.
Jimmy is so skanky looking, but I'd jump him in a second if I had a chance.
1. David's co-workers suck. He's at work right now with a throat & ear infection and a fever because he couldn't find someone to work for him.
2. I am hopefully getting my car back today. I really dislike this rental car I have.
3. One more day of waking up early before 2 days of sleeping in.
4. Might be leaving work early (see #2) after staying until 6/6:15 the last three days.
5. My laptop isn't playing sound on youtube videos. Think I need to reboot.
Welp, my car is off at the body shop being repaired. I miss her ):
I thought since the other guy's insurance was paying for a rental that I'd get a tiny car. Nope, they gave me a full size. I got a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. I *hate* it! It's huge. So I call it The Monster.
So yesterday was a pretty.. interesting/good/exciting/relaxed day.
It took us 4 hours to get to the concert. 4 hours. Should have taken 2. It took us 2 hours to go 12 miles on the PA turnpike because of an accident.
We got to the concert about 10 minutes into Streetlight Manifesto's set. They played one song that I'm familiar with but not familiar enough to sing along with. It was cool though (:
Armor for Sleep was pretty cool too, though I can't say I'll ever listen to them again. Just not my kinda music.
Then it was time for Mindless Self Indulgence. We managed to get up pretty close to the stage. As soon as they took the stage, the crowd surged and we all got squished. I took a foot to the face from a crowd surfer and had my glasses knocked off. Thankfully I was able to pick them up off the ground before anyone stepped on them. Not long after that, *I* fell over. It was then that I decided it would be safer away from that spot. David agreed and we managed to make it to the back of the crowd.
For only playing 30 minutes, they managed to play a bazillion songs. Or maybe just 10. Tornado Shut Me Up Lights Out Mastermind Faggot Stupid Motherf**ker Bitches Never Wanted to Dance 1989 Straight to Video
Tokio Hotel was on after them. Their lead singer recently had throat surgery so they only did 3 songs.
After that we decided to leave. The three of us were feeling pretty bruised and abused. The ride home didn't take very long and we even stopped for dinner.
On the way home we put the call out and managed to get a decent size group together to go see Iron Man at 9:30. It's a pretty awesome movie but I don't think I could sit through it again in the theater. But it's definitely something I could pick up on DVD and just randomly put on.
