The Minority Report - Quick and Easy
Sometimes breathing the rarified atmosphere of high office can do things to the brain. As an example, please to be reading this electronic missive from Assistant Principal Mrs. Newand-Fartookeen....

Subject: Font
Ok - here's a random one for you!
We produce so many materials (or have done to date) that are in a non dyslexia friendly font (eg times NR) just cos I suspect it is the default font on machines. What's the hope of changing the default? We could do with a rounded font such as Arial/Comic sans/Verdana. I guess some might search and resort to TNR BUT if we made that difficult rather than the norm I think we might head in the right direction.
We need to be DDA compliant and to do this would be a quick (and i would hope fairly simple) step forwards. Can we?
Do you know, I've been wondering what's happened to that 'Change All The Computers So They Only Produce Text In Comic Sans' button....
The Minority Report - Email Osmosis
An IT telephone helpdesk, somewhere in UK education. Palmer Eldritch is manning the lines with Technician 3 . A teacher of Philosophy (who we shall call Mr. Kant ) calls....
Mr. Kant - Hi, I was just wondering where my link to the CPPS software on my laptop is?
Eldritch - That’s been done. Didn’t Tech 3 tell you?
Kant - No, he didn’t.
Tech 3 - [ Overhearing ] Is that Kant? Yes, I did tell him – I emailed him yesterday.
Eldritch - Apparently Tech 3 says he emailed you when it was completed yesterday.
Kant - Oh, yes. I saw his email but I thought I didn’t need to read it…

Eye In The Sky - "Want to know what it was like? Well, it wasn't funny, I can tell you that." Foster, You're Dead ! - "Starting from a laughable 4,000 yen, you can order the Home Security 7 plan and have your house transformed into the state of the art fortress..." The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch - "This gives credence to the claims that the mystical-type experiences some people have during hallucinogen sessions may help patients suffering from cancer-related anxiety or depression and may serve as a potential treatment for drug dependence. We're eager to move ahead with that research." Adjustment Team - "In wealthier neighbourhoods, the size of the house and how well maintained the garden is, often represents status." A Scanner Darkly - "When the reporter went to check out the new age-verifying machines after they were introduced in the Osaka area in June, he soon discovered that the machines equipped with face-recognition cameras would let him buy cigarettes when he held up a 15-centimeter (6-in) wide magazine photo of a man who looked to be in his 50s.
