Happy New Year!!!!
Happy New Year everyone! Goodbye 2008, hello 2009. I've had a really good day off. My mom slow-cooked pulled pork and made some lime cucumber jello. Pippin was being rambunctious and almost knocked over the Christmas tree (It's down and in storage now).

Sleep in, of course. I slept in till noon today. :)
Christmas Day was great. One of my parents' friends, Chris, came over and ate dinner with us. We had prime rib, mashed potatoes and gravy, scalloped potatoes, cream corn, dinner rolls and jello. We also had plenty of appetizer items - cheese, sausage and crackers, beef wellingtons, meatballs (made with cranberry sauce and chili sauce), veggies & dip, and chips & salsa. We have plenty of food left over. We just ate and watched the basketball game the whole day.
Yesterday, I went out for some sushi. Then, I went to Barnes & Noble, where I picked up this book(a very good read so far) and a mini 2009 Monet calender to hang up in my cubicle at work.
It's been freezing here the last few days. Right now, it's 44 degrees F out, and it's supposed to get down to 37 F. That's pretty cold for the Phoenix area.

I hope you are all enjoying your Christmas Eve. I saw Milk with the family. It was an awesome, well-done movie. I highly recommend it. Then we came home and opened presents.
I got: - Money and new pair of slippers from my grandparents - a pink robe and 2009 Harry Potter calender from my sister. - From my parents: Money, Star Trek: Wrath of Khan christmas ornament, Harry Potter - Gargoyle guard christmas ornament, $10 Borders Gift Card, Tumbler cup with lid from Starbucks (it has a coffee smell right now), and Porn For Women. No it's not what you think. It's this. My mom said she knew I would get a kick out of that.
Finally, watch a baby elephant play around in the snow:

Thank you for the cards, batsyx (love the batman and joker stickers on the envelope) and kaytee4ever. :)
I'm so glad I have tomorrow and Christmas off. It was a really stressful day at work today. I need the break.
It's raining pretty good here. I love this weather. It makes it feel more like winter here.
We moved into a new building at work. We're on the same campus (made up of 4 buildings), we just changed buildings. I like it better. The cubicle walls are higher, so there's more privacy. In the building we were in before, the cubicle walls were half the size, so you could see what everyone was doing. Plus, our new spot is closest to the parking structure.
I work tomorrow, then I'm off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I couldn't get the 26th off. I tried though. I put in for time off next year today. I'm askiing for 12/18/2009 - 12/24/2009 (Friday - Thursday). Then Christmas Day, which I get off anyway, is on a Friday. Hopefully, my sister can also get that time off from her work. Then we can all go to Michigan next year for Christmas to see family.
In Pippin news, he was really energetic the whole day according to my parents, who said he kept running up and down the stairs and around the house. He's zonked out on my bed right now, so I believe it.
I got a last.fm account. My username there is lekilitook if you want to add me.

I mentioned a week ago that I saw some Christmas light shows. Here's a couple of videos of one house I saw down in Queen Creek. Note: I didn't take the videos. I just found them.

Quote Leo McGarry (from The West Wing)
" [on the phone with the New York Times] 17 across. Yes, 17 across is wrong... You're spelling his name wrong... What's my name? My name doesn't matter. I am just an ordinary citizen who relies on the Times crossword for stimulation. And I'm telling you that I met the man twice. And I recommended a pre-emptive missile strike against his air force, so I think I know how..."
"There are two things in the world you never want people to see how you make them - laws and sausages."
"I fought a jungle war. I'm not doing it again. If I could put myself anywhere in time, it would be the Cabinet room, on August 4, 1964. When our ships were attacked by North Vietnam in the Tonkin Gulf. I'd say, "Mr. President... don't do it. Don't consider authorizing a massive commitment of troops and throwing in our lot with torturers and panderers, leaders without principle and soldiers without conviction; no clear mission, and no end in sight." This war is at home. The casualties are in our prisons, and not our hospitals. The amount of money the American government is spending in Columbia is the exact same amount American consumers are spending buying drugs from Columbia, we're funding both sides of this war and we'll never win it that way.
