ac adapters
So i'm looking at a customers laptop and they say somehow their adapter got switched. It's a compaq laptop with an hp ac adapter. The voltage, wattage, amperage and connection are all the same. As far as I know it should work fine! Is there anything else that should be considered before I tell them that this ac adapter will work fine with their laptop?

Sorry but I didn't know where to post about suggestions on buying desktops. Im looking for suggestions on a decent gaming desktop. Games I would like to play are.. The Witcher, FEAR, Half-Life 2 and such... Price range would be somewhere between 1 - 1.5k... Any suggestions?
Cant search with Google.com?
Hi,
Know for the most part I would never search with google.com but right now I would like to use google.com and not co.uk. As far as I now I have not changed anything on this pc and to be truthful I haven't tested the other pcs in the house but why would my browsers (IE & FF) not let me choose what ever search engine I like?
Doing a spyware scan now, why would spyware stop me using google.com!
Ideas on how to fix this please.

SAPPHIRE HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP
Hello everyone, I'm going to buy this AGP and I need to know something about this card. I've heard the card is really good but has a driver issue and the problem still appears. Can you please tell me if this one is best buy for me ? My PC is quite old and it's a HP Pavillion t530i,

1 GB 400MHz Memory
256 MB nVidia 5200 FX AGP (currently using)
Do you think the HD 3850 is good for me or I need to think of something else ? I don't play a lot of games but like to watch HD movies.
GeCube has also released HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP and is available. Which one do you think will be the best buy ?

TASERCAM, Better than a guncam is
Instead of waiting for it to be legally required the Taserians have decided to patent a "Tasercam"(real name unknown, I just threw that in) way back in 2005:

Just heard this guy on Fresh Air. Man, people get worked up about Wright? This guy is friggin' insane! How can anyone sit and listen to this kind of crap week after week?
We all should be afraid of the simpletons who go to listen to people like Hagee. He's a helluva lot scarier than Wright. :heh:
Which licence?
I have a project I am working on that I am putting up on SourceForge. While it is still in something like a "pre-alpha" state, I am planning on releasing it to the public for a free download. My only question is, how do I determine the best license for my software? I would like to make the code available, and even usable in other projects, but still legally belonging to me. . . . I am leaning toward the BSD license at the moment based on my skimming of the BSD and LGPL licenses . . .
MP3 collection
i have a vast collection of MP3's which ive been building for years i have them stored on my pc in folders, by artist name and/or album name its a system that i like and when i used my old xbox with media center it worked a treat but.......now i have the 360 and it does not let you view the folders the way i like it now this would'nt be too much of a problem if the 360 would sort them out my artist/album correctly but it dont when i look at some albums it can show that i have 2 albums with the same name so when you look in to 1 ya mite find only 1 song in there and the other has the rerst of the songs im looking for. im guessing someone will say to sort out the mp3 tags but i have done that when i look at my music in media player 11 all my music shows up nice and neat the way i spend hours sorting out so i thought that the 360 would show my music in the same manner. that way it just now is useless as it takes way too long to find the songs that im looking for so if anyone has any ideas how to sort the collection in to a useable format would be fab.
Good Flush needed! Handyman Subject
I need to replace a toilet in the house that I am renting. My experience in the past has been that cheap toilets don't flush worth a crap, I had to spend twice as much to get one that only required a single flush.
It's been at least ten years since I bought a toilet. Money is scarce, but I want a decent flusher. Anybody know what is a good flusher from Lowes or Home Depot?
How low can you go (Vcore voltage)

It runs quit cool under normal conditions, but under heavy loads the temps push past 60C. I know my cooler needs to have a faster fan on it, but I don't want the noise. I remembered a trick I tried in the past and I have tried it again. I began experimenting with reducing the Vcore voltage and testing with Prime 95 and memtest86 to verify that the system still was stable.
The normal voltage for Vcore is 1.325v for this cpu. I have it set to 1.200v and it still runs stable. Prime95 running on max heat results in temps no higher than 53c now(room temp is about 72F).
I have not tried going any lower with my Vcore. I am already down four steps and I got my temps to where I want them to be. Most of the time I read 25 to 27C, but Prime95 pushes it up to 53C. The spec for the cpu is 68c max. One guy ran his at over 100c when overclocking, but I'm not doing that.
So, how low can you go?

Hillary must be royally "upset" (to use polite language) about yesterday's events. She has been cast aside. Now we are going to start seeing some real coverage of McCain. From the CNN article.

Bad Hard Drive? I don't trust it!
My Seagate ST3320620AS 320gig hard drive less than two months old began experiencing problems when I was watching a DVD that had scratches on it. The movie froze several times, forcing me to reboot the computer via the power switch.
Afterwards chkdsk reported disk errors. After removing the DVD I continued to have errors when rebooting the computer, so I ran HD Tune 2.55. It reported bad blocks and the computer locked up again. When I tried rebooting the system failed to boot.
I finally restored a backup I retested the drive using SEA tools and HD Tune. Both passed. I have rerun HD Tune several times with no errors.
I have not formated it yet, I'm using a new hard drive. I was going to RMA the drive, but since SEA tools finds nothing wrong with it I'm not sure I can do that. Perhaps I should tell them it failed and send it back anyway.
I have not had a hard drive fail and recover like this one has. I'm testing the heck out of it.
Oh, before it failed it often would make a loud single clack every now and then. I have not heard any noise from it since. That was a sound that means death to me, but the drive passed HD Tune even though it clacked. Now the clacking is gone, but the drive is not my main drive anymore.
Surveillance Query
Hey guys!
I'm writting from Brazil and a friend of mine has a Surveillance Company.
He has lots of customers and offer Streaming Live Surveillance. What he needs is to record all that he is streaming.
I need to help him out with this matter but have no clue how? Is there some Professional software that records the live stream from the server?
