it's been a while.
my summer vacation in myrtle beach (via photopost of our hanson day from my iphone, my other pics are from my film cameras and i have yet to develop them):

our myrtle beach trip involved a lot of beach trips, food, reading by the pool, sleep, hanging in the sunroom, and exploring. it was nice to hang out with talley and my mom for awhile.
excellent.
i started my summer classes on monday, and they pretty much blow. i'm taking my math course (AGH), and music lit for the first term. i mean, it should all be relatively easy, but the fact that i have two classes condensed into six weeks is what worries me. i've already had two quizzes, my first paper is due wednesday, and my first exam is next thursday. bahhhhhh
i'm still debating on when to visit minnesota this summer. it turns out that my advisor fucked up and i am actually accepted into my program for this year instead of next year (what a releif), but that means i've got to catch up on my missing gen eds a little faster. 10k happens to fall in the middle of my second summer session, so i'm not sure if i'll be able to go up to the cities then, or if i'll have to go up for a visit during my 10 day break between sessions. agh, who knows.
also, i'm anxiously awaiting august so i can move into our pink house with emily, carmen, katie, and sabrina. i'm so excited!

there are a few things that are really getting to me, but then again, there are others that make it better.
i think my week-long vacation to myrtle beach with tal will be exactly what i need. i leave in a little less than a week (although the driving part is going to suck) and am meeting talley there. yay!
for now, i plan on drinking beerz and getting a solid tan at my pool every day. kthnx

things.
a) i may or may not have the most fucked up portfolio outcome ever: i was accepted into the photo program. however, my advisor is preventing me from taking the upper division classes until i get my gen eds and last 2000 level studio out of the way. but, even though i was going to do those this summer anyway, i still can't take upper division studios until 2009. fuuuuuck that.
b) we're still looking for one more roomie now that darcee bombed out, and it's not going well. we may have to get my uncle (a lawyer) involved to force her to pay the rent that she signed on. whatever.
c) there must be some major cold front in gville right now, because it only got up to 70º today. it was like 90º last week, wtf.
d) i have to start over on my final photo project because my original plan went wrong. booooooo
e) i got my iphone like a week ago, and sprint still hasn't transfered my number/plan over to at&t, so i am getting calls and texts to both phones. urgh.
f) conner is in town! time to get drunk!

okay, things are getting better:
1. darcee pulled her lease. i suppose this should be a bad thing since we have to find another roommate now, but i'm relieved. now none of us will have to deal with her douchebag shit!
2. yesterday/last night was dank. after class, emily and i got mcallister's and hung out with lola. then kristin and i got ridiculously drunk and went to the atlantic, hung out with jio, and jammed.
3. kb and i are heading to brad and beiber's tonight for some ragin', which is always a good time.
4. i'm off to minnesota on tuesday morning for owen's recital. aka hanging out with talley, nick, shopping in uptown, and being awesome for three days.
5. the day after i get back, we're heading out to the lakehouse for the weekend. amazing.
6. myth busters is coming to my school on the monday after, which is going to be out of control crazy. UF has awesome guest speakers.
7. conner is coming to visit on the 16th, ahhhh!
dang, this is gonna be good.
reasons i am frustrated:
a) no one on my team seems to think that it would be important or nesessary to fill me in on any activity or plans that i am supposed to partake in.
b) darcee is giving me the cold shoulder for no apparent reason whatsoever. if i'm being nice to her and she still honestly can't get over herself and keeps being a douchebag, i hope she goes through with her threats and pulls her fucking lease. i'm just tired of it.
c) i still have no idea what to do for my digital imaging project (which is due monday), no idea how to use illustrator anyway, and no idea when i'm going to be able to do it while at this pointless, ridiculous swim meet.
d) there is only one plug in our hotel room, and darcee decided that she can take half of it to plug her phone in at all times, and the other half to plug her laptop in at all times. therefore, neither my phone or computer are able to charge except for in the bathroom when the lights are on. great.

i had some mental blockage for project ideas in my digital imaging class.
my prof told me to take a three or four shots and then do a word map to get all of my ideas out.

after 9 days of high chlorine levels, injuries, spf 70, drama, and over 100 hours of practice, i'm finally back in gainesville.
anyway, by day 4, bethan quit the team.
so: now we're down to a 5 person team routine (which is ridiculous and pointless enough), and i no longer have a trio because my coach was a dumbass and didn't put any alternates down. this nationals is so not worth it.
and i think i'm going to take next year off of synchro. there's nothing good enough to stay on the team for, as of now.
i think it's time that i see what a normal life is like after almost 12 years of not having one.

•portfolios are due in one week. this is the last chance we have to prove ourselves, and i'm scared shitless.
•spring training. last year, it gave me tendonitis. this year, i have to avoid my foot getting worse and aquiring any new injuries/steer clear of dying and drowning. it also sucks because half of my friends will be at a cabin in the mountains of north carolina, and the other half will be in panama city. and i will be in a pool. for 100 hours.
•the week after spring break when we have a random, stupid meet against ohio state. on a tuesday. basically, we're meeting them at their spring training so they can technically "hold a meet" and get their trip paid for by ncaa. bitches.
•nationals. i don't think this needs any explanation.
things i need to look forward to in order to get through things i am dreading and/or concerned about:
•april. in general. because of these events:
•my bro's recital, aka excuse for me to be in minneapolis for three days.
•conner visiting. we will all consume quite possibly the most alcohol ever imagined in the duration of his stay.
•a weekend trip to the beach. i have yet to actually plan this, but it's going to happen, and that's that.
•the end of school. less stress, more sun.
•the first week of may, when i will be in myrtle beach with talley. we will get tan by day, hang out with my mom and eat by night. and then see hanson at the house of blues. yeuhhh!

i'm almost glad that classes are starting up again tomorrow.
i mean, the only two faces i've seen in the past month have been darcee's and kristin's. yeah, i love the bitches, but hey - you can only look at a person for so long, you know?
i just need to see other human beings again. maybe it will make me stop feeling homesick. i'm also going to not peruse anyone's facebook albums until like....march. i hate seeing all of my old high school friends together and knowing i'm the only one not there, especially because this is how it will probably be for the remainder of my life. i'll learn to get over it.
anyway, all of my friends are finally back in town, and i can't wait for the fucking weekend so we can all get back together at luke's or allan's or someone's and just hang out and be awesome again. god, i've missed it!
darcee and i spent the majority of the evening you-tubing hanson things and giggling on my enormous bed [which i haven't left today, sans utilizing the bathroom]. it was ridiculously entertaining.
