- Speak Spanish Quickly
Speak Spanish Quickly
Would you like to speak Spanish quickly? Follow this five-step plan.
If you want to speak Spanish quickly, here is your plan:
1. Get a Spanish Lesson Book
Buy a book that focuses on phrases that you can use to start speaking right away. You will need to learn grammar, of course, but the finer points can wait. First learn to communicate in the most basic ways. Know how to say hello and to ask where things are.
This is the natural way to learn, by the way. A baby knows how to communicate long before he knows what it means to conjugate a verb, right? If you are more interested in actually communicating than in analyzing the structure of the language, start with the simple Spanish phrases that you need.
2. Learn The Phrases That Make Everyone Your Teacher
There are some basic phrases that will get the native speakers to be your teachers. Learning these is essential if you want to learn to speak Spanish quickly.
For example, “Cmo se dice…” (How do you say…), and “Cul es la palabra para esto?” (What is the word for this?) are great phrases to know. You can say “Cul es la palabra para esto?” and point at something. If the person you’re speaking to knows a little English, you can say, for example, “Cmo se dice, ‘breakfast’ en espaol?”
Another good phrase to know is “Por favor, habla mas despacio.” (Please, speak more slowly.) One that you’ll use often: “Yo no entiendo.” (I don’t understand.) It is also very useful to know the phrase “Cmo se escribe?” (How do you write it?)
People are generally very tolerant, and love to help you learn Spanish. Knowing these kinds of key phrases lets any Spanish speaker become your teacher.
3. Speak Spanish In Your Mind
Speaking Spanish in your mind is a powerful way to learn many ways to express yourself, even if you still have a very limited vocabulary. Just imagine the conversations you are likely to have. Putting your thoughts into Spanish means you learn not just words and rules, but specific ways to express what you want to say. It is a great way to practice and remember your new language.
4. Carry An English-Spanish Dictionary
Don’t just carry it, but use it. It should be more than an emergency back-up for when you are stuck for a word. You should use it proactively to prepare for conversations. Also use it when you are stuck for a word in your imagined conversations.
Use the dictionary after conversation as well. Look for other ways you could have said something. Look up words that you heard but didn’t recognize. Randomly browse it and stop to learn the words that catch your attention.
5. Speak With Native Spanish Speakers
One of the best ways to quickly speak Spanish (or any language you want to learn) is to start talking with native speakers. Actually talking in your new language will quickly show you where you need the most work. If you can’t do this where you live, start talking as soon as you arrive in any Spanish-speaking country. You want to learn to speak Spanish in order to communicate, so start communicating.

PreSchool Spanish

Why an EarlyAGE 2nd Language?
Research indicates that from ages 1 through 8 is the best time to introduce a new language to a child. If the 2nd language is introduced early in life children will learn it faster and retain it longer. Being exposed to a 2nd language offers numerous benefits to young children including an improved ability to communicate, better cognitive development, richer cultural awareness, improved academic performance, superior educational opportunities and, ultimately, better jobs. The earlier a child is exposed to a 2nd language the more likely they will speak it with native pronunciation. One recent study found that bilingual children learn to read sooner than their single language counterparts, have increased creative skills and become proficient problem solvers. Another study indicated that bilingual children also performed better on math and verbal sections of standardized tests than single language children. Perhaps these are just a few of the reasons that teaching Spanish is becoming popular in many childcare centers and preschools.
Why Spanish?
Spanish is the most widely requested 2nd language for the following reasons:
Over 27 million homes in the United States have Spanish as their 1st language
There are over 42 million Hispanic people living in the United States
Many companies are seeking bilingual (English/Spanish) employees
Learning Spanish allows communication with over 300 million people worldwide
Spanish is closely related to the English language and is relatively easy to learn
How to Get Started?
Here are two excellent contacts for preschool Spanish education:
www.bocabeth.com A great source for colorful flashcards, CD’s, DVD’s and more methods to introduce the preschooler to Spanish.
www.spanishfun.net A Franchisor providing EarlyAGE 2nd language activities introducing preschoolers to Spanish basics including numbers, colors and everyday words.

- How you can Learn Spanish at Home ?
Learn Spanish Using Audio CDs
Spanish CDs come in different types. There are series for beginners, advanced and expert. If you are aspiring to learn for the first time always start with the CDs for beginners. On the CDs you will have guidance on pronunciation, daily lessons, and homework, which can then be cross-checked for correct answers. Most Spanish language CDs, in addition, come with a manual, which will help with learning to write Spanish and with some of the homework. All bookstores will carry Spanish language CDs, and so will some department stores such as Wal-Mart in their books section.
With a Spanish audio CD, you can hear the correct pronunciation, which is a very important aspect of learning a language that books can’t teach you. People who learn through conventional classroom methods tend to be a little shy of the way they speak. Because the audio lessons will make you very familiar with the pronunciation, it will give you confidence to talk with Spanish-speaking people sooner. Since you will be confident to begin a conversation, you can begin using your Spanish language skills immediately. The biggest benefit to learning from CD’s is that you can study your lessons at the same time as doing something else, like chores, exercise, or driving. This will save you any amount of time, which will shorten the time necessary for mastering the language.
Learn Spanish Online
Though many people do not consider the alternative, it is possible to master the Spanish language online. In fact it can be one of the most ideal and cheapest methods of learning the language. Some sites offer free lessons in certain areas such as grammar or verbs, while others concentrate on pronunciation and conversation. Other sites offer complete Spanish lessons covering all areas and designed to allow the student to become proficient in the language. Some sites require payment, and it is best to compare sites in order to assess your requirements and what you will be getting out of the experience. Motivation is probably the most important thing when you learn Spanish online because there is no actual teacher to frown at you for skipping class.
Learning Spanish on the Web is great because sites incorporate pictures, sound, games, and spelling and writing into the learning experience. Not only can you hear the words pronounced, some sites even record your own voice’s sound waves and compare it to a native speaker’s pronunciation on a chart, so you can actually see how good your pronunciation is. Some Spanish learning sites have online tutors convenient for contact. Sites with online tutors provide a much better technique to comprehend the Spanish language online because they give help and support whenever needed. For example, if you are struggling with a particular area, then having an online tutor available for consultation can be extremely beneficial. Other online courses provide you with live forums where you can chat with others that are learning Spanish online like you.
There are a number of kinds of sites for learning Spanish on the Internet. Some sites are like textbooks, with exercises in Spanish and explanations in English. Others are more multi-media. Depending on your learning style, some sites are better than others. Spend your first session scouting the Internet for good sites. The most convenient part about learning the Spanish language online is that the websites can be accessed at any time of the day or night!
Learn by Practice
Don’t forget to practice! That is the key to learning any language. There are several ways to practice your Spanish lessons at home. Get some light reading material, such as fashion magazines, comics, joke books, whatever that holds your interest, and read. Have a dictionary handy for the words you do not know. Another enjoyable way to become competent with the language is to watch Spanish language TV or Spanish movies without subtitles. In this method, you will be bound to pay attention to the spoken language, which will further strengthen your grasp on it. However, the very easiest, and fastest, technique to learn Spanish is to converse with someone on a regular basis. If you are lucky enough to have the acquaintance of a native Spanish speaker, he or she can correct your accent and grammar as well as teaching you generally used colloquial phrases. Remember that you must apply what you learn. Practice Spanish on a daily basis to master Spanish in no time.

Rosetta stone is 400 which is way too much, and Muzzy is way too young for my ages as the ages are only up to at the most 12 year olds. I'm looking into taking a course in college, but outside of school, how can I learn myself?

Simple Ways To Learn Spanish Through Online Language Courses
Yes, it’s a question which must be asked. Do online Spanish courses really work, or are they simply a farce in an attempt to scam you of your money and leave you with poor foreign language skills? Are they simply there to blindside you, and convince you that the traditional way of learning a language is obsolete? This is certainly one side of the argument. The other side would have people asking questions such as “Why would you use a traditional paper based language course when you could simply turn to an electronic version on the internet”, or “Surely you can learn Spanish easily by spending time studying online”. Indeed, these two polar opposites attract their own crowds.
Interestingly, it tends to be the people who own or run land based language courses who throw their hands up in support of the traditional language systems. Funnily enough, (and particularly unsurprisingly), it is the owners of online courses who advertise and display that their systems are the best. So, with significant conflicts of interest in who is promoting and negating each side, allowing a third party to analyze the Spanish language industry is a great idea.
So, basically, what I have experienced was two Spanish language courses off and online, this showed me which one allowed me to truly learn Spanish easily. Each in different areas of the language, but with a common theme of how to learn Spanish words as a base course.
I am pleased to say, my verdict was very clear. As most of you may have guessed (or been hoping that I would answer), the internet course was by far the easier to work with and resulted in the best recall rate of the two courses. Obviously, there are a number of factors which need to be considered here, and anyone who is a professional will know that what I did was in no way a professional clinical study - but then again I never proclaimed it to be. It came from my personal experience because I took a trip to Costa Rica and I wanted to be prepared.
Therefore, to bring this Spanish review to an end, I would highly recommend that anyone looking to learn the Spanish language should consider both routes of learning, and then ultimately choose the one which suits them best. For me, the best was the online course, but that certainly doesn’t mean it will be the best for each and every person out there. Remember - learning a language should be both challenging and fun. So, if you’re not enjoying it, you’re probably going about it in the wrong way.
