Shaun’s little ‘Did you know?’ – Number 3

With Halloween dawning on us tomorrow, you’d think I would produce a fun fact about something supernatural or ghostly… but alas, I have decided that this information was far more important:

A duck’s quack doesn’t echo…No one knows the reason for this

How’s your horror knowledge today?

Another little gem from Suzanne’s archives slightly time-wasting, sometimes slightly annoying, online games…..

With tomorrow being Halloween, I thought I’d be topical and share with you a “Guess the Horror Film” courtesy of M&Ms. There’s 50 to find (and no asking Phil because he’s done it before!). Go on click on the picture and have a go, it’s easy…..

Get out of this one…

I’m not sure if you have seen or played “The Crimson Room” before…but when I first played this puzzle game, a few years ago, I drove me totally INSANE!!! I remembered about it over the weekend and thought I would be so kind as to share it with you too! (click on the picture to play..)

If you are indeed a glutton for punishment, there is also “The Viridian Room” and “The White Chamber” to challenge your Harry Houdini escapism skills…

Enjoy….(or search Google or You Tube for escape solutions…..)

The beautiful game?

With nine minutes to go, the Brazilian second division side Viana were beating Chapadinha 2-0. They needed another nine goals to seal the unlikely 11-0 scoreline required for them to secure promotion. Amazingly they got them … or perhaps not so amazingly, given Chapadinha’s shameful defending. Maybe they were cheating!

“D……” drawings….

alldynamicpictograms_1As with all London 2012 Olympics creative, the newly released pictograms have received a bevy of mixed reviews…

I am in the postive camp and think they’re a refreshing change from the ‘usual’ pictograms that have seemingly become an expectation since the Munich Games of 72.

Beat me for using such a word but… the design boffins responsible for them say they’re pretty dynamic (agggghhhh!!! did I use that word?!?!?!) and I’m inclined to agree…. they’re a nice flip-side to the some-what questionable logo…

Your opinion?

An ‘Auto Response’ Apology.

Ahem. I would just like to take this blogging opportunity to apologise for the 800,000,000,000,006 emails that Mac Mail has just sent out on my behalf.

You see, when I told Mac Mail to set up an Auto Response to incoming mail, it decided that – just to be sure – it would send an Auto Response message to EVERY SINGLE message in my inbox.

So, I’m sorry, and I’m sure I will be punished justly for this error. Particularly by Ben Greenhalgh who has received back the 70+ bizarre love letters he has sent to me during my tenure at Cuckoo.

So, once again… sorry. And have a nice day.

Shaun’s little ‘Did you know?’ – Number 2

This week, my little ‘did you know’ made me scared of donkeys and less afraid of flying! how do the two connect you ask? Well…

Did you know that annually, more people are killed by donkeys than die in plane crashes!?

Cuckoo’s Nest Beer update!

Calling all ale lovers!

From this weekend our very own sponsored beer, brewed by the wonderful Bazens Brewery of Salford, will be available at The Kings Arms (Bloom St, Salford)!

Don’t miss out!! You’ll love it!

Shaun’s little ‘Did you know?’ – Number One

It has come to my attention over the years that, for some reason, weird facts seem to be something that everyone wants to know about. Human kind must just be lovers of the weird and wonderful I guess. So in answer to the cries for useless but amazing information I have decided that once a week I am going to introduce you all to some weird, wonderful or just good for a laugh facts!

“So, what sort of fact shall start off this new weekly event?” I hear you ask! and I reply with the below:

Did you know that Porcupines float in water??
