After storming back into Sheffield towards the end of 2008, with the sell out 15th Birthday event and the infamous themed parties; Gatecrasher Red & Black and the festive White Party, Gatecrasher are back in 2009 with one colossal line up.

The headline slot sees Sander Van Doorn returning after a long break behind the Gatecrasher decks. The Dutchman, who among many from the Netherlands is blessed with musical genius, has clocked up more hit records, dancefloor detroyers and sell out gigs than most DJs do in a lifetime. If you haven?t heard of ?Grasshopper?, ?King of my castle? or ?Riff?, tracks which have sent tidal waves throughout the scene, then you?re probably not in tune with dance music. His ethos is simple and that is to please every crowd he comes into contact with.

Marco V is next up, a guy often referred to by his peers as the DJ?s DJ, staying ahead of the game by mastering the ability to adapt to changing trends in the scene. On the decks he knows how to take complete control of the crowd, incorporating anything from fierce electro to driving techno and beyond. His studio work has seen him belt out more anthems than a national football team. From classics such as ?Indicator?, ?Simulated? & ?Godd? to present day floorfillers such as ?Second Bite?, ?More than a Life away? and ?Red Blue Purple?, his discography is the envy of most.

Described by Paul van Dyk as one of the most exciting producers in the world today, John O?Callaghan is another addition to this already stella line up. Another DJ who has rapidly risen to fame through the ranks of the world?s DJ/Producer elite, he has firmly stamped his authority on the global trance community; emerging as one of the trance scenes leading talents and pushing the genre into new dimensions.

When Woody Van Eyden & Alex M.O.R.P.H crawl behind the decks together, you will find out what makes a Back to Back set so special. They bring the energy and flow for a whole army of artists. What Woody does, Alex does better. And after that, Woody tops him. This act goes on and on, track after track, bringing total euphoria to any dancefloor, putting the crowd under their magic spell.

Last but most certainly not least, Jon O?Bir has become one of the most highly regarded trance DJs on the planet. The Nottingham based nu-trance master?s sets are forward thinking, cutting edged, trance blessed journeys that have captivated crowds across the globe and will be back to captivate the Gatecrasher crowd after his long awaited return.

Room 2 will see Electrik Playground returning to host - Riley & Durrant?s new night which has gathered momentum in Leeds and tours last summer at Tiesto?s Privledge night in Ibiza. Electrik Playground?s resident, Adam Sheridan will be bringing his box of bleepy, electro tech filth for an excursion away from his usual tech trance sound. With James Dutton and Tim Weeks on hand to bring their special breed of underground toxicity, room 2 is set to go off with a bang.

Defected Records 10th birthday brings House music to LIFE with an all star 5 piece band and legendary vocalists.
Start of 10th anniversary world tour at the Ministry of Sound.

Defected is 10 years old on Jan 24th. It is widely known as the label that brought many of clubland?s best remembered underground classics with unforgettable tracks such as; Cleptomainiacs ?All I do?, Soulsearcher?s ?I Can?t Get Enough?, Ferrer and Sydenham ?Sandcastles?, Fish Go Deep ?The Cure and the Cause? and KOT ?Finally?.

But in true Defected style they have planned a party with a mahoosive twist, just like the 100th release celebrations back in 2005, house classics will be brought to life by a special 5 piece band. Some of Defected?s biggest releases will be sung and played LIVE by the original recording artists. House labels rarely showcase their tracks live so this really is a once in a lifetime chance to see these artists performing together.

Julie McKnight the voice behind KOT?s ?Finally? and Louie Vega?s ?Diamond Life? will be performing alongside Marc Evans singing ?The Way You Love Me?. Tassita D?mour sings Copyright ?He Is?, and new signing Yasmeen performs ?Glad I Found U? as well as Shovell?s insane performance of ?Bulo?.

The main club event showcases Defected?s biggest line-up since Miami ?08 with special guest appearances from premier recording artists and DJ?s including Bob Sinclar, Junior Jack & Kid Crème, the Shapeshifters and ATFC. With ATFC alone being crowned House artist of the year by Beatportal and the chance to hear MC Spike (JJ & KC?s legendary MC) you know this is a must see event.

This is Defected Record?s most ambitious celebration tour to date with 10 parties planned in 10 major cities across the globe, starting right here in London at the Ministry of Sound. The tour takes place in Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Singapore and culminates at the opening party of Pacha Ibiza ?09. There is a second tour planned for later in the year. There is also a special anniversary CD mix released in Feb 09.
