Treating Anxiety Attacks (Guest Post)

Anxiety is characterized by physiological and psychological changes that occur as reaction to a stimulus.  It is a generalized mood state classified with behavioral, cognitive, and emotional actions.  Anxiety is differentiated from other maladies by feelings of unpleasantness, worry, and apprehension.

How Do You Know You Are Having An Anxiety Attack?

Persistent, uncontrollable, and irrational anxiety classify the group of anxiety disorders along with symptoms of overstimulation including pounding and pulsating heart; shortness of breath; sweating; muscle aches, tension, and twitches; stomach upset; headaches; fatigue; restlessness; and insomnia.

An anxiety attack is a sudden instance of intense anxiety with no conspicuous trigger.  The sufferer believes they are in danger and react accordingly, both physically and psychologically, generally willing to do whatever they perceive will alleviate the affliction.

Treating anxiety attacks

The first step to treating anxiety attacks is to discuss your concerns with your doctor.  Your health care provider will be able to provide you with all of your options.  Your physician will also be able to refer you to a mental health professional for further assistance.

The first step to any scenario when treating anxiety attacks is management.  The primary way to do this is controlling your fretting.  Chose a time and place to worry.  Schedule your stress time and isolate all of your unproductive thoughts to this time.

Take care not to worry about “what ifs” or “maybes” and focus only on actual problems and use this time to solve them.  Next, learn to relax.  Take up the habit of yoga, deep breathing, long bubble baths, or whatever might help you gain control of your attacks.

Treating anxiety attacks with relaxation therapy is an invaluable life skill and even more beneficial when combined with other methods.  Regular exercise is imperative for a robust body, but it is advantageous for a healthy mind as well.  In addition to frequent exercise, ample sleep affects the body and mind collectively as well.

The next phase to treating anxiety may be the most difficult; avoid vices.  Drugs like caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and other psychotropic substances can seem mildly effective (and affective) initially, but are very short term solutions to treating anxiety attacks.  Finally, confront your fears.

Treating anxiety is fine, but the source(s) of the illness must be met head on.  Purposely encountering situations that ordinarily make you anxious, but doing so on your own terms enables you to control your situation while meeting your reservations.

Anxiety Causes

Our focused efforts on researching, analyzing and understading anxiety definition has come to its final phase with our last article with the title "What is Anxiety and Phobia."

We have started the second phase of understanding what is anxiety which focuses on anxiety causes. The first article that we posted on our website is simply titled "Anxiety Causes."

This article discuses the categorization of anxiety causes. The first of these categories is discussed in the same article. The second category will be discussed in a separate article that we intend to publish soon. The third category discusses how some drugs and medication can cause anxiety. We are not sure if we will be able to touch on that subject we need to do more research to be able to determine that.

This article - "Anxiety Causes" - comes to an interesting conclusion at the end of it as it analyses each of the first category items. The first category looks at mental conditions that cause anxiety. These mental conditions are also looked at as types of anxiety.

We think that it is safe to look at them in either way whether as anxiety causes or as anxiety types as we think the triggers are different in nature.

You will also be able to find more information to understand what is anxiety through the library area that we created which includes books and other anxiety related items. This area is found by going to the Anxiety Self Help Library of our website.

Help to Relieve Anxiety (Guest Post)

Do you need help to relieve anxiety symptoms? When it comes to anxiety and panic, every victim should know how to deal with it and at least attempt to heal their condition. Most people don’t take the time to allow their minds relax, or a prepare their minds for stressful situations. After reading this article, you’ll learn the correct way to relieve yourself of anxiety and panic.

One of the best ways to keep anxiety levels in check is to relax yourself at the end of the day. Allow yourself to have some quiet time. Everyone deserves to have a few moments to themselves every day — a time where you don’t have to worry about anything.

You might want to light some candles and sit in your most comfortable chair. Give yourself a little bit of calm time every day, and after a week or so you’ll notice that your anxiety levels have dropped dramatically.

Another great way to relieve anxiety is to prepare yourself for potentially stressful situations. If you have to make a presentation, make sure you give yourself a lot of rehearsal time. If you have a job interview, write down any questions that you think the employer might ask you, and come up with good answers to them. Being prepared helps you to feel more secure and confident in yourself and your abilities. This confidence can work wonders to help relieve anxiety.

Improving your self esteem will also benefit you. It’s unfortunate, but many people spend far too much time talking themselves down. Instead of telling yourself that you’re unworthy of happiness and good things, go ahead and congratulate yourself for being a great person. Every person who has ever come into this world is a small miracle - that includes you.

In conclusion, it is not too difficult to learn how to relieve anxiety. As long if you give yourself some quiet time each day, prepare yourself as much as possible for events that make you anxious, and remember that you’re worthy, you’ll find that you’re calmer, happier person who can handle whatever life throws your way. Controlling anxiety attacks and disorder is easier than you think!

Learn To Deal With Stress & Anxiety (Guest Post)

If you suffer from headaches, panic attacks, or racing thoughts that can’t be controlled, it’s likely that you need to learn how to deal with stress and anxiety better. Most people don’t put enough effort into reducing their stress levels and dealing with it correctly. Here are some tips to you learn about how to deal with stress and anxiety correctly, so that it doesn’t turn into a bigger problem.

Although stress is a natural process of our body, and can even be helpful in some situations, too much can be harmful to your mental health, physical health, and emotional health. Anxiety feeds off of stress, so the more stress you have, the worse an anxiety disorder can become.

Anxiety can lead to even bigger problems than you could imagine. Some people lose jobs, friends and end relationships because of the panic and fear that overcomes them. Naturally, learning to deal with these problems correctly could save many people from a lot of heartache.

Meditation is a great way to deal with stress, anxiety, and harmful thoughts. However, many people don’t take the time to meditate and let their mind quiet because it’s too difficult to do. If this is a problem for you, you may find that it helps to use a meditation aide. A good quality CD can make this process much easier and works great as a safe and natural alternative for panic attacks. However, like anything worth learning, meditation does take practice.

Learning how to quiet your mind and drive off stressful thoughts is important to your health. Don’t neglect this simple step, both before and after stressful situations – take the time to master it for your own good. It’s especially helpful when you’re about to have or have just had an attack. This is pretty much the best way to calm down after a panic attack.

Remember that nothing happens overnight. Learning how to deal with stress and anxiety is one of the most important things you could ever learn. Put a little time and effort into learning how to deal with stress and anxiety properly. Keep at it and you will see results!

Next Step - Anxiety Causes

We can safely announce here that we have finalized our research focus on anxiety definition. Now we are moving our concentration to different aspect to better our understanding of what is anxiety.

Our next phase of research will focus on anxiety causes. We are not sure how many articles it will take us to make us satisfiend that we have covered this aspect of understanding what is anxiety.

Our initial research findings were interesting, but the material is not enough for us until now to enable us to publish any information yet about anxiety causes.

Yet we have found interesting information that will smoothly link our last couple of articles that concentrated on the axiety synonyms as a way to have a clearer understanding of anxiety definition and therefore, of what is anxiety

We have found information that will name some of the synonyms as causes to anxiety. Keep your eye on our next article and we will see from there how much we need to dig to have a clear understanding of anxiety causes.

If you still did not have the chance to read our articles you can find them at our "What is anxiety" section of our website.

We have also created what we call Anxiety Self Help Library that include books and other items that are related to understanding and helping overcoming anxiety.

What is Anxiety and Phobia

We are actually very excited about the latest article we have included to our collection of collected information to understand what is anxiety.

The new article is a continuation to a previous article that discussed different Synonyms for anxiety. Phobia was supposed to be discussed in that previous article, but we wanted to dedicate a good space for the discussion that would show the distiction between what is anxiety and what is phobia.

We have rightfully done so as the resulted discussion produced a very clear picture and finally we were able to draw a live example through which the different terms were vivdly discribed.

Finally we were able to conclude that anxiety has no real synonyms. Stress, worry, phobia and fear do not really discribe what is anxiety. The feeling although could be close but is not the same as the the feelings associated with anxiety. There will come a phase in which we will be discussing anxiety physical symptoms. We should bring those terms again in that phase and research their symptoms and test them against those of anxiety’s.

If you would like to get on with  your own reading to better undersatnd the different aspects of anxiety please visit our Anxiety Self Help Library.

Anxiety From heart to stomach

I just came from my Chigong class. By the way, people write chigong in different ways such as Qigong, gigong and the least famous is Chi Kung. Anyway, today the instructor was talking about the facial openings of different internal organs in the body and the emotional aspects related to each of those organs.

Within the explanation I found another aspect that would help us better understand what is anxiety. What is related to our subject here are two organs and this is what we will talk about in this post.

The mouth is the opening to the stomach. The stomach is said to be where anger and stress are felt. The tip of the tongue on the other hand is the opening to the heart. The heart is where over thinking is felt or in other words excessive thinking activity.

If we combine stress and excessive mental activity we come very close to anxiety definition. We will not discuss which comes first, or which is the product of what. We believe that both scenarios are valid and they produce a vicious circle resulting in increased anxiety.

We know that to the people who have past experience or still are experiencing anxiety, this information will hit a nerve. For me it did. I remembered what I used to feel in those two areas when I used to get my attacks.

We need to keep this finding in mind once we reach to the phases where we try to understand axiety causes and anxiety cures and remedies.

Don’t forget to check out the anxiety library that we built for people who are interested to understand what is anxiety faster than our research collection speed rate.

What is the Right approach for treating Panic Disorder? (Guest Post)

Panic disorder or anxiety disorder can be very difficult to live with and it is necessary to take immediate action to ensure that one walks out of this condition. People suffering from such disorders have a hard time as they find it impossible to lead a normal life and are battling their fears constantly.

Panic disorder is referred to as general anxiety disorder or GAD. It is common to find panic disorder sufferers to avoid all possible social situations that involve intereacting with people and live a life of a hermit. Some people fear of certain places and certain situations. Overcoming panic disorders is a challenge and one has to take the right approach to cure panic attacks forever.

Using medications and antidepressants is a no solution to treat panic attacks forver, as it just treats the symptoms and does nothing to treat the actual root cause of the problem. The best way to treat anxiety related problems is to face the problem head on in its tracks, instead of running away from it. The more you run away, the more difficult it becomes to treat them in future. Medications only offer a solution to run away and do nothing to treat the panic disorder forever.

The best way to treat panic disorders is to treat get out there and face the situation that triggers the panic instead of running away. You need to face it till your mind starts believing that it is only an imagined fear and not something that would harm you.
