How to recover your hacked Yahoo! account

January 1, 2009 almost became one of the worst day of my life because my 6 years old Yahoo! account got hacked, All my valuable personal mails, some important files, pictures, membership access, and lots of contacts are in my Yahoo account. The hacker even changed my zip code and deleted and changed my alternate emails so I will not be able to reset my password.
I spend the whole 1st day of January of 2009 trying to bring back my account. I’ve tried different tricks and tools to saved my account but they all failed. I never did think of emailing Yahoo for my problem because most of the people say that Yahoo always ignore them regarding their hacked Yahoo password problem. I said to myself that if there is anyone that can bring back my Yahoo account it is Yahoo.
On January 2, 2009 I send a mail to Yahoo Account Security Department stating my problem, I told them the whole story and how important my that account to me. After two hours I did receive a automated response asking for some verification. So I did send again with all my information to them. I did not hear from them after their last mail.
January 4, 2009 I receive a mail from Yahoo with my new password, YAHOOOOO!!!!. It is really a Yahoooo day
.
To be able to reset your hacked yahoo password just send a mail to Yahoo Security Department - account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com. always remember to be polite in contacting them, tell the whole story, don’t blame them for your hacked account, tell them when is the last time you access your account, supply them the password that you last used to accessed your account, give them all the information you entered when you register your account or just the information when you last update your account.
There are lots of tricks on the internet on how you can recover your password. Don’t try them it is just a waste of time, high security risk and most of all they DON’T WORK.

Hiding folders - How to create an invisible folder

Do you ever wonder how you can easily hide your folder without using any software?. Hiding your folders is a simple way of keeping prying eyes away from your private documents. This is very useful if you share your computer with friends, coworkers, spouse, children or your computer is always connected to the Internet. Here is a simple trick to easily hide your folder without the use of any folder protection software. This works on XP and Vista.
- First step is to create a folder. I don’t recommend creating a hidden folder on the desktop because it shows up a second or two upon startup. On the image below I created a folder on drive C:.

- Now, you will have to name your folder. Make sure your NUMLOCK is On. Press ALT+255. This will actually produce a character that looks like a space but it is not a space.
- After naming your folder, right your folder then choose properties. Under the customize tab click change icon. Scroll through the icons until you find one that has no image.

- Click OK and your done. You now have an invisible folder.
You access your hidden folder by entering the path of the invisible folder in the address bar.
ex. C:ALT+255

Backup solution - How to change the location of My Documents folder

Take it from me loosing your important files such as your saved documents, pictures, and other data could be the worst thing that could happen to your computer life. Way back in college I experienced loosing all my saved documents that includes my projects that has to be passed two days after the tragedy, I don’t have a backup so it was really a nightmare for me. I’ve learned my lesson prevention is really better than cure so I constantly make a backup of all my important files.
Just almost three weeks ago all my files on my laptop got deleted I mean ALL files due to some virus attacks. Fortunately I have a backup and also found a way to recover all my files even if my hard drive partition are damaged and have been formatted.
Back in October I wrote an article on the different backup technologies that can provide you convenient and reliable backup. Backup technologies.
Hard drive is one of the great backup solution for your files. But what if you don’t have a separate hard drive for your backup? the solution is easy just create a partition of your hard drive, your computer will treat it as separate hard drive so you can place your backup files on your second hard drive.
My Documents is the most popular folder where computer users save all their files such as documents, pictures, videos, mp3, e-books, and also saved game files. It will be inconvenient to save files on your My Documents folder and then place a copy of it on your second hard drive or partition. The solution for this is to change the location of your My Documents folder to your second hard drive or partition. How to make it possible? follow the steps below.
Follow these steps to change the location of My Documents folder
1. Right Click My Documents then Select Properties
2. Change the target location from the default drive to the drive letter of your second disk or partition.
As you can see from the image below I change the target location of My Documents folder from C: to my second partition which is D:. This will automatically save all my files on drive D: and whatever happens to my primary partition my files are safe and I can reformat it anytime without thinking about my files. This will also work on Vista.
