I have to admit that when I first saw the Take Me Higher collection of rockets and robots from Thomas Sabo, I wasn’t sure what to make of them. I mean, lovely as they were, could I really picture myself wearing one? Especially as I have never been particularly interested in the solar system and space travel and stuff. But I confess that I have done a complete 180 on the subject and had a complete turnaround and now, surprise, surprise I want it all! I think my change of heart came when I first met Mr. Spaceman’s girlfriend- who couldn’t love that little articulated robot with her gorgeous garnet crystal heart emblazened across her chest?? And once I fell in love with her, that was it- the rockets, omg the rockets! I just can’t decide which one I like best… the slick black, the sophisticated white or the frivolous red. And of course if you have a robot and rocket, you must complete the set with a ufo and again the same problem- which colour to choose- black will go with everything, cream is a little bit different and the red is just so much fun! Then just when I thought it was safe, Thomas Sabo introduced the crystal star pendants and earrings as additions to the collections and the whole problem started all over again. The bottom line is its just such a gorgeous, fun and contemporary collection that anyone can wear and fall in love with…. even my mum is on board. With just over a month to go until Christmas, I have been forced to admit defeat and start compiling my Christmas wishlist, and surprise, surprise, it consists entirely of Thomas Sabo goodies! First of all, I want a handful of the new charm collection to decorate my obsidian bracelet… it’s taken me a while but I’ve managed to narrow down the wishlist to the cocktail charm, the theatre mask and the gorgeous little red shoe with wings- its just so cute! All three will look stunning on my bracelet and are perfect for the festive party season. And thats just for starters! From the sterling silver collection, there are just so many pieces, its difficult to choose but I think I’m going to go for a glam rock and roll theme this winter and have managed to select the gorgeous black crystal fleur de liys pendant, the new oxidised wing and the fab crown carrier from last years collection. I’m planning to wear them all on my long length leather cord and I know they’ll look just gorgeous over a t-shirt with my leather jacket. And just in case Santa is feeling extra generous, I wouldn’t mind a pair of the stunning crystal star earrings, in black or white cubic zirconia- again another great accessory for the party season and guaranteed to take me through to 2009 in sparkly style.

At the end of October, Thomas Sabo will be launching a new limited edition collection available only for a short time. It really will be a case of first come first served so you will have to get your hands on it quickly. The collection, inspired by Winter themes of ice and snow has been kept rather hush hush so we are lucky to be able to bring you some details. The limited edition collection will form part of Thomas Sabo’s Sterling Silver jewellery line for A/W ‘08. Using white cubic zirconias and clear facetted crystals, Sabo have created a thoroughly feminine and elegant collection, think large snowflake like pendants and matching earrings, rings and studs. The unusual use of white stones set in sterling silver is a definate cool colour palette and will look stunning on milky pale complexions and dramatic and contrasting on dark skin. Keep your eyes open for it hitting the shops, there will be absolutely no reorders so one of these pieces would make an extra special and beautiful gift for Christmas.

Apparently we are official in autumn but you could be forgiven if you thought we were in the depths of winter! Personally though I take this chance to change mystyle and my charms!

At 15.95 (yes I said 15.95!) its a bargain and should be on every Sabo fans wish list this Christmas! For that winter vibe it would look good on the black onyx beaded charm bracelet with other seasonal charms like the star, ice skate and snowman.

When Thomas Sabo launched the “East Meets West” collection the Thomas Sabo foundation pleadged 10,000 Euros every year for the next five years. The donation is to help underprivileged Malausian children. Thomas Sabo presented a mock cheque of Euro 50,000 to the Kiwanis Club Damansara which also adopts the Kiwanis international credo of ‘Serving the Children of the World’.  

The collection comprises of pendants, studs bracelets and rings. Each are available in a number of colours, with the outstanding pieces being composed of all the colours available like in the bracelet depicted below

 Moving on…… This collection also harbours a more earthy side that to be honest we didn’t like at first. The piece that draws our attention is the “walnut”. A large conker sized pendant its solid silver and we suppose reflects the “hippy” side of the collection. I think the jury is out on this one……….

On the 80th anniversary of Mickey Mouse, Thomas Sabo will be unveiling a brand new collection of charms for the AW08 collection based on Walt Disney Characters.

All your favourite characters will be included such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto and here at Thomas SaboJewellery.co.uk we have no doubt that more characters will be introduced in the future such as tinkerbell and characters from beauty and the beast.

Throughout the collection there are also some more unusual charms and other sure to be best sellers. We particulary like the gummy bear charm - its so cute! One charm destine to cause a little controversy however is the razor blade charm. We are not to sure why but we are going to with them on this one and see how it turns out.

This collection is sure ot be a success. Disney remains popular though all ages.
