Slow but Sure
I just want to inform you, that I am currently neck deep into work, as you know Q3 and Q4 are worst for every company (from sales and marketing prospective) , and top of that Bush’s 8 years of governance, has left us with f**ked up world economy…..and my company is based out of US.
Anyways, I will be a slow in posting for a few weeks, until I am done with the entire tightening of all the screws and blots in my department.
This my no means that I will not be reading and commenting your great blogs! Hence I will be slow for a while but sure. Also let me plug my blog here, you cal also browse through some really good posts.

Boss Bhi Kabhi Fresher Tha
Pointy-Haired Boss is hopelessly incompetent at management and does not understand technical issues but always tries to disguise this, usually by using jargon he also does not understand.
The Boss treats his employees alternately with disdain or neglect; he is narcissistic, using them to his own ends regardless of the consequences to them.
Scott Adams himself wrote that “He’s not sadistic, just uncaring.” What troubles me is the question,”How did Scot Adams generalize every possible boss in the world with more or less just +-10% deviation?
Here are few gems from my observations.
- Boss will change their mind with every stimuli or communication.
- Boss will make sure that employees are as clueless as “lab rat” in a maze and encourage guess work on what’s important to the boss. They will always want 100% and Everything is Important and Urgent, Always.
- Never explain why something is wrong (anyways wrong is relative ) and they won’t explain. Saying, they “Just need to make it “better.” If I give you too much direction, how will you learn? “
- Take your whole team for every meeting like the army of 300, and make them sit for no purpose or cause and then later ask them to send out the “MOM”(Minutes of meeting) while boss was sleeping !!!
- Appreciate late or never
- Schedule weekly “all hands” meetings. With the clear agenda: Team bring boss up to date on what they’ve been emailing you, but Boss’s have been too busy to read and make sure to not introduce anything new.
- Ask your employees, to take time from their lives and attend useless meetings on weekends because boss couldn’t manage their time properly.
- Agree to deadlines and then accelerate them. Ask loudly from the hallway if the document is ready at 6 PM. Announce: “I’m here late tonight if you want to finish it up.”
- Schedule “critical” meetings a few days before you have to leave for important event. Show up late and decide everyone can reconvene to “close the open issues” day after you return from your vacation.
- Send emails at 4 AM. On Saturday. Mark them urgent.
- Be careful not to get too wrapped up in your employee’s own goals. If you’re too supportive in helping them develop, they’ll leave you for another job. And that’s not good management.
- Twist words around to make a nonsensical statement sound intelligent. Eg. Don’t think about it as it’s a problem, look at it as a challenge !
How about you ? Do you have any bosses that have embodied any or all these?
A Message to My Boss: Boss, This is not for you. This for my other Boss.

Obama Victory Speech
If you love speeches, you’ll love Barack Obama’s victory speech. Wonderful words expertly delivered by perhaps the most gifted political orator of our generation. We need the same change in India.
“If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
“It’s the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.
“It’s the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

Indian Media is Lap-Dog not Watch-Dog
Mark Twain said “Get your facts first, and then you can distort ‘em as much as you please”.
Today’s media and for this articles’ simplicity let me just look at India, i guess lesser heartburn .
In 1990’s while we were getting there in terms of the economic liberalization and reforms, one very sadly exiting event was happening, bith of the Zee TV and launch of India’s first Hindi satellite channel in October 1992.
Yes, you could watch a lot of crap, almost free and what more could a entertainment deprived nation with Door-Darshan as their only source of entertainment want!
But than a very simple yet disturbing thing happened, cable TV found out News was more popular than “Saas and Bahu’s age old love”. And than as you would expect there was rain of the news channels here are a few of them.
- India Aaj Tak
- ABCNEWS.com
- BBC News
- CBS
- CNN
- FOX News
- FOXBusiness
- MSNBC
- India NDTV Profit
- India NDTV
- Sky News
- India Television
- India Times Now
- India Zeenews
If i have missed out on some believe me, I just don’t care.
Now you would expect that having so many channels will compel these morons to do a good job, you know competition and all (even microsoft does a decent enough job, if they have competition), but hang on, NO they didn’t. Actually they f**ked it up really well which makes you wonder if the world is growing worse, or if the reporters are just working harder.
Anyways, if we dig up a few gems from india news industry, we get these headlinne.
The witch who wants Onions
Aadha Insaan Bolega (Blind Man Speaks)
Ravana flew the Pushpak Vimaan
Abhishek Bachhan and Aishwarya Rai Marriage
India declares war(ning) on terrorism
Richard Gere kissed Shilpa Shetty
Astrology can detect Homosexuality
Salman Khan is released from the jail on bail and is going home through plane
Not only the news is irrelevant it is also fairly deceptive and biased against the truth. In India we have a few news channels who have been started by politicians to do 24/7 advertisements.
We have discussions with no agenda, end result and where everyone is mimicking Indian Parliaments and playing devil’s advocate pun intended. There are no solutions offered, TV anchors are well dressed and can not ask a basic followup question.
I believe in equality for everyone, except reporters and photographers. ~Gandhi
