Heres a hilarious video that a reader emailed in to me.
It is a cross promotion between some event going on in WWE (I still call it WWF) and the US Open. Both are equally boring but if you combine the two, it’s strangely intriguing.
I can just see it now. John McEnroe is in a close match with Björn Borg and Macs hits a ball that is right on the line. The ref calls it out.
Johnny Mac isn’t feelin the call so he runs to the refs chair like he’s about to lose it and the Undertaker just gives him one of those looks he does like this.
Then John shuts the f**k up and quietly goes back to playing tennis.
Here is a crazy video of some kids who are extremely bored with life, finding ways to one up jackass. They try to do what looks like it’s going to be a skating stunt but with fire involved.
Bad idea.
They light the rock on fire which is one thing, but then they light the kid of fire too.
There are some sporting incidents that you watch and when you see them all you can say is “are you f**king kidding me?” I.E. Ron Artest.
Angel Valodia Matos provided one of those moments during the Olympics for us.
Guardian - Cuba’s Angel Valodia Matos lashed out at a referee and a judge after being disqualified from his bronze medal bout with Kazakhstan’s Arman Chilmanov in the Olympic taekwondo men’s +80-kg tournament.
Matos kicked Swedish judge Chakir Chelbat in the head as coaches from both teams ran on to the mat to dispute the result. The Cuban was leading 3-2 in the second period of the contest when Matos stopped to receive treatment for a foot injury. Competitors are allowed a one minute period to treat injuries, and when this time elapsed the referee awarded the contest to Chilmanov.
After a heated exchange on the mat, Matos pushed the match referee and then caught the Swedish judge in the head with a high kick. Matos then spat on the floor was promptly dragged from the scene by his back-room staff.
Crazy!!!
If you don’t believe that this actually happened, here’s the video.
And to top it off, his dumbass got a lifetime ban from the World Taekwondo Federation championships. So no more tournaments for you.
With everyone talking about Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt having the most memorable moments in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, for me this gets the nod. Well, either that or this. Now I’m waiting to see Rasheed Wallace or Lou Pinella do this.
The New York Daily News is reporting that Michael Strahan would return to the Giants for $8 million.
The team was only willing to pay Strahan $6.5 million in the spring, but it’s possible the season-ending injury to Osi Umenyiora might have the team willing to spend a bit more. Still, the team is reportedly content to move Mathias Kiwanuka back to defensive end. “I haven’t heard from anybody else, so to say if I would or wouldn’t is premature,” Strahan said, “so I’m enjoying my retired life right now.”
For the Giants this would be a good move.
They have lost a lot of players from their nasty defense from last year including their other all pro DE Osi Umenyiora who went down to an injury last Saturday in their preseason matchup against the Jets. Osi is gonna be out for the season.
!!!!
So this would obviously be a good deal for them but what about Michael Strahan?
Well he probably doesn’t need the money. With endorsements and his new deal to be an analyst for FOX, he should be good for cash. He has his ring and his opportunity to ride out on top.
Why come back to play for a team thats getting worse NOT better and a team that will NOT be back in the Super Bowl and maybe might not even make the playoffs considering the very tough division they play in.
Naw. If I was Stray I’d say thanks for all the good years but I’m chillin now.
AP - Hawaii’s mini-mashers got a little help from Mexico’s miscues to win a fourth straight Little League World Series title for the United States.
Tanner Tokunaga smacked two homers and Iolana Akau added a solo blast as the boys from Waipahu, Hawaii, defeated Matamoros, Mexico, 12-3, Sunday to take the biggest prize in youth sports.
Congratulations to the youngsters from Hawaii for winning the title and bringing home the championship. This along with the Olympics have made this a pretty good month for the USA as far as sports goes. It won’t really be all that great though until football starts. Thats neither here no there though.
Hawaii won the title in 2005 and now they’ve won it again to continue the United States recent dominance in the youth tournament. US teams have now won 4 straight years.
Hawaii’s Iolana Akau was the star of the game hitting two home runs and making a great catch (video above).
If you played on they squad and you are reading this, you guys kick ass butt!!!
First of all, I want to congratulate the USA basketball team for proving me wrong and not sucking despite the fact that Spain gave them a pretty good game. Good job guys, I’m sure they’ve having mad fun over there right now.
Second, I had a crazy weekend. Drunk as hell at a foam party in Houston. I always wanted to go to a foam party with lots of asian girls in bikini’s dancing in the foam, it was everything I imagined and more.
Third, I’ve visiting home soon!!! Jersey here I come.
I am average soccer fan, whenever the World Cup is on I’ll usually check it out and I’ve even seen a few MLS games.
One of the biggest things that got me into soccer wasn’t the actual sport though, it’s things like this and this that help to keep my love of the beautiful sport going.
So naturally when I run across videos like this one from World Star Hip Hop of banned hotties juggling (soccer) balls in scantily clad outfits, I’m all over it.
As if being one of the top basketball players in the world, with millions in salary and endorsements, and a worldwide fanbase wasn’t enough, LeBron James also gets to have his Hummer redesigned on TV (probably for free).
Here’s a video of Lebron James getting new additions redesigned on the Speed channel.
The Red haven’t made the playoffs since 1995. They’ve had some glimmers of hope with guys like Ken Griffey Jr but for the most part they get overlooked.
Things have gotten so bad in Cincy that the mascot decided to team up with the local news to try and convince people to go to the games. I doubt that it worked.
