The Impact Of The Internet On Auctions
When it comes to saving money, the Internet revolution that created online marketplaces and auctions is a great source of cost cutting. Buying things over the Internet at such auction websites has proved to be useful to collectors and those looking to save on their current expenditures. Those who excel in obtaining collectibles will have the most noticed benefit when using online services to buy and sell their collectibles. It is no longer mandatory to travel to another country or state in order to make a bid on a collectible one may want- now all they have to do is access the Internet and navigate with a few clicks of a mouse. Another problem with the conventional auction is that they are local- meaning there will be fewer bidders present on average. Since the Internet is open to the entire world, it can give sellers a much better market in which to sell their collectibles and other items to others. This works both ways, however, as sometimes buyers may have to pay more for certain collectibles. Although Internet auctions have given consumers much to celebrate, the best benefit is being able to buy and sell collectibles in the comfort of one's home. It isn't mandatory to have to get up and dressed in order to go to a public auction- now it's as simple as getting out of bed and starting up your computer. Because of this, the "on the go" lifestyle is much more manageable. For a large family, there is the problem of expensive prices that arise on most goods in the physical world. Buying a new television, for instance, can set a family back many hundreds of dollars. But if the same television was bought online over a marketplace or auction, the family could better afford the television and use the savings on things that are more important. When looking for an online marketplace and auction website, it is best to find one that is easy on fees. After all, shipping and handling costs enough without the website taking a fee from each sale. Online websites should also have systems in place to protect against fraud and scams, so as to protect their users from any harm that malicious users would enact in order to unfairly claim money or products from others. Handicapped or disabled people will also appreciate the services of an online marketplace or auction. After all, it is much easier to access the Internet at home rather than have to navigate through the city streets or auction grounds in search of the same products. Online marketplaces and auctions are a great way to get what one needs, at discount prices. By using online marketplaces, one can also get products shipped to one's front door without much more money than it would cost to drive to an actual store to buy the item in question. And for collectibles, there simply is no better source than online auctions to find what a collector needs to complete his or her collection.

Should this be legal? Could it get through airports? It’s up for auction on a gun site?

holacarinados asked:

Here it is: Do you think it’s cool or should it be banned. It’s guaranteed, by the way. Try googling it.

“This is a set of one letter opener and one tanto type blade knife. The first is the letter opener that is made of high density grade aircraft ABS plastic. This letter opener is 7 3/4 inches long with a blade length of 3 7/8 inches. This letter opener contains no metallic properties so it can not be detected by a metal detector. So if you work at an office that you have to go through a metal detector and you want to use this to open your mail at your office and home without the hassle of the metal detectors, then this is the letter opener you need. Next is the tanto type blade knife, that is 11 1/4 inches long with a blade length of 5 3/4 inches. The knife is made of undetectable antimagnetic material made from Zytel(r).”
