As described by my gamer friend Diablo -2 ended on an abrupt note and the sequel was long awaited. Seems the wait is still long atleast an year. But Blizzard will make sure that the wait is worth. Have a look at the gameplay video and then you will realize what power and entertainment diablo 3 holds for the diablo fans. Decard Cain reappears in Diablo 3. This will undoubtedly be the best release of 2009 in the RPG section. Kudos .
Law Of Ueki (a 51 – episode anime) revolves around a high school student Kosuke Ueki. Basically in the heaven a new God is about to be chosen so the God Candidates are required to choose a representative from earth to fight for them. The student is given a unique power and he/she has to defeat as many representatives as possible thereby making his/her god Candidate the New god of Heaven. Also the winning representative will get Blank Zai (talent), which allows them to choose any talent of their liking. (Duh.. if it would have been me I would chose to be the most chaotic person)
An interesting Battle System is being shown in the anime which normally is seen in the video games.
Kosuke Ueki
The rules for the battle are interesting for God Candidates as well as their chosen representatives. Now Ueki who was chosen by Kobasen (A good God Candidate) in a small age has the power to turn trash into trees (you must be think what a waste but it’s a studmax power). Ueki is portrayed as a child having unique sense of justice to help others he dreams of a world of goodness.
It is a fast paced anime and becomes intriguing as the tournament begins, new characters with different powers makes it all the more interesting. The levelling up of Ueki Kosuke is an awesome process. He gains all the 10 heavenly sacred treasures and finally fights the most feared villain in the series “Anon” who has also absorbed a 10 star heavenly being.
Anime characters being very simple in design are very cutely drawn and cool and some of them are damn humorous. The unique battle system shown in here goes intense as the anime progresses. Again as a typical Japanese animation, Law of Ueki inspires you to be a good person and gives you an encouragement to struggle for your cause :).
Totally action packed anime with humor bits in between plus since its a complete series so it is at an advantage. Here’s a video for the opening theme of Law Of Ueki , Hope you will enjoy the anime
Law of Ueki is a free fansub which can be downloaded here
Either you will love it or hate it, there’s no middle ground here
Are you tired of listening to the same story line of a dark lord, an artifact and a small man turning to a hero? Hmm I was. Though being a huge fan of Tolkein, I was looking for something different, a new approach to the genre.I started reading this series a couple of months back when I was desperately searching for an author who writes excellent high fantasy.
This was written on the back cover of the book
Bled dry by interminable warfare, in fighting and bloody confrontations with Lord Anomander Rake, the Malazan empire simmers with discontent. Its legions yearn for some respite.
For Seargent WhiskeyJack and his Bridgeburners and Tattersail, surviving sorceress of the second legion, the aftermath of siege of pale should have been a time to mourn the dead but Empress Laseen’s gaze has fallen upon Darujhistan, for this ancient Citadel, last of the free cities of Genabackis, still holds out against her.
However, the empire is not alone in this great game. Sinister forces are gathering as the Gods themselves prepare to play their Hand.
And Gardens of the moon turned out to be a master piece. The story starts with a coupd’etat of an empire by the head of the assassin branch CLAW. What ensues is chaos in the noble class. There’s trouble in the empire’s borders. A group of marines marches at the head of the army to vanquish the rebellion.
The marines take the centre stage with a lot of interesting characters. Oh..there are intrigues, corrupt nobleman, warring factions, wizards, there are ascendants there are shape shifters and then there are GODS who play their games in the mortal realm. That’s hell of a lot of characters and sure you are going to fall in love with some of them and want to strangle some others.
The characters are deep, with almost real emotions, there’s a lot of funny rambling going on in the story line among the characters and frankly its interesting most of the times. The storyline itself is very rich spanning across millennia and evolves over the series. The story has an all new set of races (not the usual Orc, Elf, Dwarf, Human). War, magic and lots of action is ensured in the first volume.
This series was originally envisioned to be a RPG, however it came out as a fantasy masterpiece. If you are a fantasy lover then pick it up from the nearest stand, as i said either you will love it or hate it.
Just like a shinigami without a matching sword is waster , a gamer without a similar mouse and a supporting mousepad would not be able to perform to his/her full capacity.

Buso Renkin - a short 26 episode anime ,to know more about it drool here
The story revolves around a high school boy Muto Kazuki who gets killed trying to save a girl from a mysterious monster. Fortunately for Kazuki the girl turns out to be an alchemist warrior Tokiko Tsumura
who saves Kazuki’s life by placing Kakugane – (an alchemic material) in his chest and changes his future.
Now Kakugane is the main device which was used by warriors against the homunculus beings. Whilst the alchemic warriors used Kakugane as their mode of fight the homunculus were fromed by injecting an organism into their brain which gave them supernatural power. Mainly three types of Kakugane are shown in the anime, the Black Kakugane which is devlish, the normal kakugane, and the white kakugane which can counter the black kakugane.
Mutou Kazuki
You should look at the way the alchemic warriors bring out their weapon by shouting “Busou Renkin” thereby transferring their Kakugane into a stylo weapon.
The characters are quite well drawn and to an extent they are funny as well as awe-inspiring while using their kakugane or their special homunculus powers. Of course the main characters being Kazuki and Tokiko plus a homunculus who is not normal and is always looking for ways to fight Kazuki but at the same time he does have some goodness to his nature which makes him a lovable character.
Tokiko
He goes be the name of Papillon ( realname - Chouno Koushaku). There is a bit of humourous as well as romantic touch to the anime ( of course a smooch between tokiko and Kazuki which really touches you if you watch animes seriously).
Also some characters from the alchemic division like Captain Bravo are also equally dude :D.
Koushaku
The most nasty character which I came across was Victor who was having a black kakugane with an awesome arms alchemy. Just seeing him use his alchemy gave me chills :). Although while coming to the end episodes , Kazuki also becomes equally power like Victor but to be rescued in the end by his rival Pappilon.
Lots of Fighting , with occasional humour makes it interesting to watch. Not to forget the typcial Japanese inpirational stuff, never to give up (in this case to save the world and for their loved ones) is obviously there.
A fast paced action animation series but it ended too quick, I was actually hoping for more of it
A sure-watch for alchemy action fans :), A true Kenpachi Anime.
Seeing as it was Petroglyph’s (composed of ex-westwood employees who made the command and conquer series) first original, own ip based game, I was pretty interested in the game for quite some time. After, finally getting a chance to play this it has been a mixed bag. Throughout the single player campaign you will be constantly be reminded of two contrasting things - how much original, interesting stuff is there in the game and how much polish it lacks.
Talking about the interesting stuff each race felt fun and unique to play. Walkers are one of the most interesting units in any rts ever. The game has three races - The evil Heirachy, their arch rival race - Novus and the Saviour race - Masari. all of these units have their distinct weakness and strengths which you will need to use to master them full. It’s as much fun to play using the Walkers and wreaking havoc on your enemies as it is using your forces effectively to take them down (gives a great feeling of accomplishment). Other races are also many interesting dynamics. Building up the control lines network intelligently of Novus and using them to quickly move around is really awesome. Gives you a full control of the battlefield. The Masari, though a bit conventional, also had interesting elements like using light/dark modes as per requirements . In short all the factions offer a lot of interesting options and and area lot of fun to play
Science Walker destroying enemy lines
Moving to the other aspect the of the game, that is the lack of polish. The units are difficult to control and use. It feels clunky to to move the units around and the gameplay suffers quite a bit because of that. It’s also pretty difficult frustrating to do simple stuff to manage unit groups, see the units currently selected etc. Camera controls are similarly awkward. You cannot move around the camera easily to see the battlefield as you want. Due to these problems the gameplay feels a bit slow pace and micro becomes pretty difficult. There are also a few bugs in the the game, one especially frustrating bug was crashing after 10 secs of loading saved game (was later on fixed in a patch - so this patch could be essential for some)
The single player campaign is pretty standard save the world kind of stuff although the missions for each factions themselves are pretty interesting. The story being pretty simple progresses nicely and is decent enough to provide enough motivation to finish the game. The last faction campaign consists of conquer the world types of missions where you conquer one territory after other, and you can go by shortest rote or take your time by first controlling all the neighboring territories. This mode though pretty simple helps keeping the thing fresh
Didn’t play a lot of multiplayer because of games for windows crap, but from what I played the game seems to have lots of interesting strategic options. It has the standard skirmish mode and also the conquer the world mode where players will be battling over the territories in the world map and fighting rts style in the territory mas
Graphics are decent and the unit art design is also good. The various units like walkers and other heirachy machines really have a menacing and brutal mechanized look which is suits them perfectly. The Novus shiny and bright look makes them a good contrast to Heirachy and Masari’s radiating look also suits them pretty well
It felt like a shame that while the game offers original stuff while at the same time it forgets to offer basic stuff which are common in most of the rts nowadays
Wondering, why the 11 commandments, when there were 10?
The need to bring this post in line with the 11th division ( ehh still confused about 11th division and zaraki kenpachi, drool here) and the 10 commandments. Since Kenpachi still is the 11th Division captain so the 10 commandments have become 11.
Thou shalt always be the Dudeness in battle, to be a kenpachi player is to always remain a Dude in the battle, to always keep a stock of health and rejuvenation items ready, and to keep fighting till Life turns to zero!
Thou shalt not underestimate the opponent
Thou shalt let your nakama(= friend, team members) fight
Thou shalt not use cheats/hacks
Thou shalt release your Bankai only when needed
Thou shalt not boast about your Bankai
Thou shalt keep saving timely
Thou shalt not abuse the opponent but can be a bit showy
Thou shalt learn from your mistakes
Thou shalt train hard to do a level up
Thou shalt not be disappointed when thou does not hath a Bankai instead a strong will and fierce battle spirit shalt be used to defeat the Bankai
Fully Inspired by Zaraki Kenpachi, This is the first featured post of Kenpachi Gamer
“I had no memory of seeing anything there but the color of blood, the people around me were all more like animals than humans. A baby like me could have been stomped to death at anytime. Then you came.” These were the exact words of Yachiru (who always sits on the shoulder of Zaraki Kenpachi) when Kenpachi found her. More about Yachiru can be found here.
Here is a sweet tribute to God-Max Zaraki Kenpachi who saved Yachiru from that hell. Behold Zaraki Kenpachi is here -
“The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me ,now there is no hope” and Kratos cast himself from the highest mountain in all of Greece. After 10 years of suffering, 10 years of endless nightmares it will finally come to an end. Death would be his escape from madness.
The game starts with this dialogue and a video of Kratos jumping from a mountain. To know about it in more detail and the plot you can go here. The game is totally awesome and according to a CNN review “God Of War is the type of game that makes you remember why you play games in the first place”. If I were to add my comment I would say that every PS2 gamer who hasn’t played God Of War has missed out on a fierce gaming spirit.
God Of War has an amazing gameplay , with very scenic graphics which fascinate you from the very beginning. Battling monsters, medusas, cyclops, minotaurs etc.. brings out the kenpachi in you. For all fantasy lovers this game brings your fantasy level up by a notch. An intense hack n slash action and puzzle solving. A very cool user interface and the special magical powers which come as Kratos proceeds in the game are very tempting. Here is a pic of Kratos when he is using Poseidon’s Rage
A cool lighting engulfs him in a circle of some range and Kratos is hung in the air with that power. All the enemies coming nearer get toasted to death
Gamer is a multi - meaning term but essentially who is a gamer ? The most probable answer would be “A person who plays games is a gamer”. Well every person plays games but lets define it in a new style which is zaraki kenpachi way. Basically a gamer is a person who is very passionate about the game he/she likes and can go depths to explore that game and defend it if the time comes. Also the gamer loves to game ,he/she thrives on the feeling of playing the game, the adrenaline boost, the pleasure in defeating opponents, the pleasure in helping team members or the pleasure in giving a full 100% to that game is what can be called as a gamer.
If you have watched bleach and have came across the character of zaraki kenpachi, then basically a true gamer can be compared to have a kenpachi within himself/herself. Now more about zaraki kenpachi can be found here. The main point is that kenpachi is a man who lives for the fighting spirit and is not afraid of taking any damages whatsoever for enjoying the battle. And in true ways that is what a gamer is all about. Whether lose or win, if you cannot enjoy the game you played, then there is no point playing that game because then you are just another brick in the wall, another rat in the rat race.
Even if you suck at competing others in a multiplayer game like CS or DOTA but you enjoy the game whole heartedly and are determined to overcome your weaknesses you are a true gamer. Now going a bit off the context the favourite quote of Zaraki kenpachi which I like is “Bankai is for the Weak !!! “. Bankai refers to a special sword power which zaraki kenpachi does not have but still he has the potential to overtake and conquer all of the persons who have bankai. Going into a more deeper and metaphorical meaning, a gamer should not curse himself/herself about his weakness but rather use that weakness as a learning point to rise.
Now for all the kenpachi fans and those who haven’t heard about him (go watch bleach) here is an awe inspiring and cool pic of kenpachi
