Description:

Things it must be nice to have, People it must be nice to be, and whatever else!

Contents:

To “find” money in your cereal box…

Chesapeake, Virgina resident Emily McIntire discovered a Corn Flake in the shape of Illinois (no I am not making this up).

Proving that you really can sell anything on E-Bay, Emily’s corn flake fetched a staggering $1350.00 USD.

Not too shabby for a piece of cereal…

must be nice…

To buy a piece of Titanic history for $68K…

A month ago, Christie’s Auction House sold an unused life jacket from the famous Titanic ship for $68,500.

The cork filled preserver is believed to be only one of six left and was recovered from the Halifax shoreline after the ship sank.

I don’t know which thought is more disturbing… that someone shelled out close to $70K for this “memorabilia” or the fact that the life jacket was unused (and 1500 people drowned in that tragedy).

I wonder how many times the person who bought this has seen the movie???

must be nice…

To have time to keep your blog updated…

This one’s personal peeps…

A little less than a month ago I gave birth to my second baby (and second boy)   :)

The last several weeks have been a blur of midnight (and 2am and 5am and whenever am feedings)… I feel like I have peanut butter slathered on my eyelids half the time cuz I can’t seem to open my eyes…

Anyways as I am a new mom with a newborn and a 2 year old, I feel I have a fairly legit excuse for not keeping my blog updated.

And so gentle reader, I am going to make a concentrated effort to post more often.

When I have the time, if I can ever get the time.

Ahhh to have more time.

must be nice…

To get tennis elbow while sporting this racquet…

The “EA7″ Emporio Armani tennis racquet is made of high modulus graphite (huh?) and of course designed with the label’s signature colors- white, silver and black.

So even if you can’t really play very well, you can still look fab (for $345).

To hang this on your wall…

Now in my mind, $104 million can really help a lot of people.

Could provide shelter, food, clothing, medicine etc…

Or, it could buy you a painting by Picasso from 1905 called “Boy with a Pipe“.

must be nice (to have your priorities so clearly defined) …

To sign your “John Hancock” with this pen…

Swiss company Caran d’Ache’s “La Modernista Diamonds” pen was created as a tribute to architect Antonio Gaudi.

Rhodium coated with an 18 carat gold pen point, the pen is pave set with 5,072 diamonds and 96 half cut rubies.

It sold at Harrod’s for $265,000.

To carry around this handbag…

London’s inaugural “Jewelry Week” running from June 11-15th will serve to showcase new and existing jewelry designers.

A key feature of the week is a platinum and diamond encrusted handbag designed by Japan’s Ginza Tanaka, first unveiled in 2007.

The bag, which will apparently be on sale has been set with more than 2100 diamonds. The diamond shoulder strap can be detached and worn as a necklace, and the 8 carat pear shaped diamond centerpiece can be removed and worn as a brooch.

It’s nice to know that paying $2 million for this bag means you also get a necklace and a brooch.

To decorate your patio with glass chairs…

For those looking to modernize their patios, they need look no further than the Clear Glass “Ghost” Chair distributed by Moss of New York.

The clear chair–designed in 1987 by Cini Boeri and Tomu Katayanagi and manufactured in Fiam, Italy–is made of half-inch-thick curved glass and sits 26.75″ high.

Hopefully your guests this summer will be too much in awe of these $7,175 chairs to notice if you burn the BBQ…

To book a hotel suite for a year…

London’s May Fair Hotel knows that for those who travel to London a few times a month it can be quite pricey to book one of their suites at over $5200 a night.

So their proposed solution to help those who stay at the May Fair several times throughout the year is to offer them a 60% discount and have these travelers book a suite for a year at a cost of $585,000.

The one-bedroom suite includes a Harrison & Gil hand-carved headboard in the bedroom and an Italian marble bathroom with a limestone egg bath. The sitting room features Chinese antiques, a full-size Cattelan dining table to seat 10 and a remote-controlled fireplace.

And I am just wondering if you are spending that much time ‘visiting’ London wouldn’t half a million get you a decent flat??

To store your files on this…

Dunhill has released a USB Flash Drive with a storage capacity of 1GB featuring a bulldog on one side and the Dunhill brand logo on the other.

Made of stainless steel, it really has no other notable features than being from Dunhill and for that it will cost you $350!

So my flash drive essentially costs half of what my laptop did???
