I'm booked to arrive and depart Tel Aviv 22nd July-7th August and am hoping to see a lot of Israel and also Jordan. I was hoping for some help with planning my itinerary...

I'm planning a circular sort of route going south from Tel Aviv...so for example

Tel Aviv

Jerusalem

Eilat

then into Jordan heading north Aqaba-Amman then back into Israel, seeing Haifa before going back to Tel Aviv

I was hoping for some advice on how long I might want to stay in each of the major cities and what I could see (& how to get there). For example, how to get to see Masada, presumably from Eilat, and if there are tour programs I could join in Jerusalem& Tel Aviv, this sort of thing.

what credit cards are readily accepted in Israel? 

Do most companies (restaurants and stores) accept them or is cash a better option.   For example, if I go to the cafe to get a coffee would I use cash or could I use a credit card (in the US I would use my credit card)? 

Which tours can you offer to people with disabilities? My father wants to see the holy land and he's in a wheelchair. We live in the UK.

 My family and I will be renting an apartment in Jerusalem for most of August. The apartment has internet access but no television. Is there a way to rent a televsion while we are in Israel?

 I am planning to visit Israel in August for up to three weeks. I am travelling alone and whilst I realise I will need to book tours

for certain day trips,am I naive in thinking I can travel throughout Israel without being involved with a tour group for the duration?

Would you recommend a lone traveller plan their trip through an operator or is it perfectly viable/safe to do your own thing?

I am trying to find comfortable accommodation in kibbutz style hotels with facilities such as a swimming pool and a spa.  It is for myself and husband, two sons and daugter-in-law, (in their 20's) therefore requiring two rooms or a suite.  I would like to make direct telephone contact with Kibbutz HaGroshim Hotel and also Kfar Giladi Kibbutz Hotel.  I would also like to make direct telephone contact with Kibbutz Ein Gedi Hotel, Almog Kibbutz Village and Kalia Kibbutz Holiday Village.  Can you recommend a reasonable priced hotel/spa in the Carmel Forest, Haifa?  If you have any further suggestions it would be much appreciated bearing in mind that we also have to be not too far from Jerusalem on 2nd July for a wedding.  Our agenda is to spend a couple of nights in the Upper Galilee, a couple in or near Haifa, a couple in the Dead Sea Area and a couple of nights in or near Jerusalem.  Are there any other Israeli Internet Sites that you can suggest that would also suit our requirements?  Thanking you in anticipation.

I want to get an internal flight from Eilat to Tel Aviv in the summer time.  The problem I am currently encountering is I can't get any information about the baggage allowance for Arkia flights.  Can anyone tell me what it is??  I have seen some of the other airlines only allow 10kg of checked in baggage which I feel will not be enough for me.

While doing research I couldn't find any online travel agency at all, that is aimed at the israelian population to travel abroad.

Are there any sites that offer support in hebrew, or even allow online-booking etc?

Would anyone be able to tell me if there is a company in Israel which hires motorhomes.  We are a young family visiting Israel in late September/early October for a friends wedding and we wouold liek to do a quick tour around Israel to show our children.  We thought this may be a possilbe way to drive around Israel whilst beign able to unpack a little.

My mom will be turning 86 this year and plans on visiting Jerusalem in October 08.  She is mobile but may need a wheelchair from time to time.  Can wheelchairs be hired and are the more popular tourist attractions accessable by wheelchair.  Thank you for your assistance. 

Hello:  I am looking to get to the Holy Land by summer next year.  This has been a long overdue trip that I have been waiting a long time for.  I would like to go with a Christian group or travel with friends.  At this time, I am not sure.  I would like to stay in Jersuluem.  I would like to know some of the surrounding hotels in the area and perhaps the best location.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  I would also be interested in an exchange student program.

I am looking for a car to rent in the holy land. I have looked all around on a lot of Israeli car rental companies online.
One of them is by Eldan - local Israeli rental company and they got an English version of their site all about Israel car rental and from all companies ranting cars in Israel they are the only company I found which is renting fancy cars like Hummer H3 !! looking cool indeed...

anyone ever had rented a car in Eldan? a trustworthy company?

I have a US passport with an issue date of April 7, 2008.  Do I have to wait until after October 7, 2008 (six months) to visit Israel?  I really would like to come around Sept. 27, 2008 to Oct. 10 or 11, 2008.  This is just short of the six month date.  Do all those people who come with tour groups have to wait six months? Is there anyway possible to visit as those date are perfect for my schedule.

Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

hello all

we have a time share in Eilat (already reserved) i would like to go from either tel aviv or jerusalem to eilat and stop on the way for one night in masada/red sea.

1- would it be better to go directly from haifa/tel aviv to eilat? if so, what is the best mean ( and most fun) transportation?

2 - if we decide to do the tel aviv to eilat via masada, what are the best way to go? are they any tours that would allow us to stay in masada/red sea for one night so we can climb masada to see the sunset, then go on to eilat and stay in eilat from that point on?

3 if we do option 1 and go directly to eilat, any ideas to go to masada/red sea and stay one night then back to eilat?

4- if someone is really knowledgeable, we would also like to do a 2 day trip to Petra (to sleep in desert, do the night walk in Petra, camel ride..and not rush through the whole thing?
