Billboard is reporting that Joaquin Phoenix is creating an album with Tim Burgess of the English alternative rock band, The Charlatans. Burgess says “Once [Joaquin] learnt guitar [for the Johnny Cash film ‘Walk the Line’] he found that he had quite a lot of demons inside himself that he wanted to expel through music. All the tracks that me and [Charlatans’ manager Alan McGee] worked with him on were brilliant. But I think he just keep scrapping everything or re-doing everything. I’m sad to say that I think it’s one of those records that may never come out, to be honest with you. It’s an on-going thing. I’m trying to get Alan to force him to put it out at the moment, but I don’t know whether it will [get released].”
Sir Paul McCartney officially became a free man on Monday when a High Court judge officially terminated his union with Heather Mills. The judge pronounced a ‘decree nisi’ on the grounds that the couple has been separated for two years. Both parties were not in court to hear the declaration and their lawyers refused to comment after exiting the courtroom. Heather is now able to claim the $50 million she was awarded as part of the divorce settlement. He may officially be a free man but he’s losing a chunk of change he could use on a party to celebrate.
Kelly Rowland says Madonna is allowed to be a diva.
The former Destiny’s Child singer insists the pop superstar, known for her outrageous demands, should be able to ask for whatever she wants because ’she’s freakin’ Madonna’.
Kelly said: ‘Madonna can have anything she wants. If she only wants red Skittles then get her red Skittles, she’s freakin’ Madonna! And if she wants a huge trailer, get her a huge trailer.’
Madonna reportedly enraged fellow artists and organisers at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Maidstone, Kent, on Saturday, by insisting on having special Kabbalah water backstage and requesting a private helicopter to take her to the event.

The Spice Girl, who is desperate to make it as an actress, has reportedly signed up to play Steve Coogan’s assistant Lynn in the big-screen adaptation of the hit British TV show, based around the mishaps of radio DJ Alan.
A source said: ‘The Partridge film has been in pre-production for an age. One reason was because they couldn’t agree on Lynn. Felicity Montagu, who played Lynn in the TV series, doesn’t want to go to Hollywood and the film’s backers decided they wanted a big name to replace her. It was also important to them to have a Briton and someone with a sense of fun.’
Victoria – who lives in Los Angeles with her soccer star husband David and their three sons – impressed bosses with her humour and is prepared to ditch her usual glamorous image for the dowdy role.
The source added: ‘Victoria is a big name but no one expected her to have such a rapier-like wit. She’s game to frump up for the role, too. She was practising her hangdog grimace to David the other day. It was cracking him up.’

At a New York press conference on Tuesday, the super group Police announced that they will play their final concert ever in New York City in August with an exact date to be announced later. The final show will be a fundraiser with proceeds going to the production of arts programming for New York’s public TV stations Thirteen/WNET and WLIW New York. The band also announced that they will donate $1 million to NYC Mayor Bloomberg’s MillionTreesNYC initiative to plant trees all over the city. This has perfect timing if you consider the charity scandal that Sting is involved in.

Days after the singer sparked engagement rumours when she was pictured wearing a diamond ring, it has now been revealed she tied the knot with rapper Nick Cannon in the Caribbean.
According to reports, the “very impulsive” ceremony took place at Mariah’s new home in the Bahamas on Wednesday.
Mariah’s nephew added fuel to the speculation with messages posted on the social networking website Facebook. Updates made by Shawn McDonald to his page this week referred to him going to the Bahamas and acting as a witness.
Family member Linda Cannon confirmed the news, saying: “Nick called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him. I’m not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him.”

There will be one surprise cover in the set. We’ll have to wait until the Paris show to find out that will be.
This tour will visit some new territory for Kylie. For the first time, she will perform in Greece, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Luxembourg, Russia, Latvia and Spain. The European leg of the tour ends in London on August 4.
The Australian tour is expected to happen in November.

A source said: ‘They have booked the entire venue. It will be quite a party. The wedding will be quite intimate. This will be the big event for all their friends.’
It was recently reported Kate is planning a traditional white wedding. The mother-of-one - who got engaged to The Kills guitarist Jamie last month, after dating him since last August - is finalising details for the nuptials.

Miley said “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.” If you get to read the mag, she says otherwise. Disney was also critical of the magazine saying “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”
Former 98 Degrees front man Nick Lachey has finally gotten a job! The former singer is set to host ABC/Disney’s ‘High School Musical: Summer Session’. The show is basically a talent show based on the hit ‘High School Musical’ franchise. The show is set to premiere on June 20th. This is Nick’s first so-called real job since his reality gig ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ went off the air and he divorced from Jessica. I’m not counting the album he recorded after that because it flopped anyway. Was his brother Drew not available? He’s become the more famous brother after ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Drew should have been the host.
Jennifer Lopez is set to star in her own reality TV show.
The ‘I’m Real’ singer – who recently gave birth to twins, Max and Emme, with husband Marc Anthony - will allow cameras into her life to show how she juggles her career with motherhood.
Jennifer – who will also produce the series on US cable station The Learning Channel (TLC) – said: ‘I’m looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together.’
TLC President Angela Shapiro-Mathes added: ‘Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience.’
The series – which will also focus on the launch of the star’s latest fragrance – is currently in production.

Foxy Brown may have gotten out of Rikers Island but her legal troubles aren’t over yet. She still has to face battery charges in Florida. Unfortunately, her hotshot lawyer just bailed on her. Fred Haddad, said that while he was prepping to get Foxy off in what he thought of as on open-and-shut case, someone on her New York legal team tried to cut a deal with Florida prosecutors. He immediately quit after finding out how Foxy tried to go backdoor on him. Now, the rapper has to go to Florida on May 8 with new counsel and didn’t get the plea deal.
In a shocking American Idol elimination show, it was actually the two strongest performers on Tuesday night that were part of the bottom two. Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson garnered the lowest amount of votes. Syesha was pretty confident when she and Brooke White were called out that she wasn’t going to be in the bottom. Judging by the performances and what the judges and even Andrew Loyd Webber said, it should have been Brooke and Jason Castro. But then again, they don’t comprise of the whole of America. Ultimately, it was Carly who got the boot. Above being a talent show, it’s a popularity contest after all.

But the rapper also has something to bring him down to earth as reports say that he and his fiancé Alexis Phifer have split. An insider told US Weekly that “Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn’t keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out.” If that is the case, Kanye really won’t have any time to grieve the loss of the relationship. Brian McFadden has slammed ex-wife Kerry Katona as “a disgusting human being” for using their two daughters as “a weapon”.
The former Westlife singer was furious after she blamed the stress of the girls’ late return from a trip to visit him in Australia for the premature arrival of son Max.

Pete personally told MTV News that “There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can’t wait for the story about how I’m really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. … I mean really, this is crazy. … I mean were engaged, that’s true, and happy about it.” So there’s still no confirmation on that one.
Now that ‘Sex and the City’ is about to come back with a movie, everything we know and love about the show is coming back with it. That means the music is back too! Fergie just recorded the film’s opening number and the movie’s director, Michael Patrick King, told EW that “It’s called ‘Labels & Love’. It’s an entirely new song with lyrics, but it has the Sex and the City theme as the DNA — on steroids.” Also singing on the soundtrack is American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson with the ballad ‘All Dressed Up in Love’ which plays during the end credits. The Academy Award winner also happens to make a cameo as Carrie’s assistant.
Vanilla Ice was arrested for allegedly hitting his wife.
The former rap star Vanilla Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, was arrested on Thursday night at his home after an alleged incident regarding his wife.
Vanilla Ice arrested by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies at 10:43 PM on a charge of domestic battery. He apparently got into an argument with his wife, Laura, and he pushed her.
He left court on Friday where Judge Nancy Perez ordered him to stay away from his wife.
Movie wizard Daniel Radcliffe has hit the jack-Potter – earning $26million in only a year. And the 18-year-old Harry Potter star has wisely invested millions from his film work in property and businesses.
The actor’s assets have risen by $6million since last year – not including the $16million he made from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Figures for his company Gilmore Jacobs show that in 12 months he put $8million in cash in the bank, had investments of $14million and was owed $4million in outstanding payments.
The figures have just been lodged at Companies House and cover the year to August 2007.
In December last year Daniel – whose total fortune is estimated at $50million – paid $2.5million for a pad in Manhattan that he plans to rent out at $20,000 a month. He also set up Almada Productions to develop scripts, and it made a $130,000 profit last year.
Daniel, who has portrayed the Quidditch-playing hero since 2001, took full control of his earnings when he turned 18 last July. Gilmore Jacobs is owned by his parents Alan and Marcia, but they have stipulated that all the riches belong to him.
