The Big Picture Convention Special 8/28/2008

The "post game show" following Obama's blockbust performance before a crowd of 84,000. I am joined in the studio by Ryan Clark, Communications Director of the local Young Democrats, and by Kevin Cates, North Florida Communications Director for the Obama campaign. Mr. Cates describes the ground game being put together for North Florida. Later, Limbaugh gives us a taste of smears to come.

Limbaugh Respects Harvard Grads . . . Except For When He Doesn't

Limbaugh talks about Stanley Kurtz, a "Harvard educated" anthropologist who is "very respected." He's been looking into Obama's relationship with William Ayers. He thinks Ayers "poisoned" the mind of Barack Obama -- a Harvard educated lawyer at the time, who actually served as editor of the Harvard Law Review. But of course, distinguished Harvard educated types only deserve respect when Limbaugh says so.

The Big Picture Convention Special 8/27/2008

The "post game show" for the third night of the Democratic National Convention. Stan the Union Man, Chris Runung of the Jax Central Labor Council, and Ryan Clark of the local Young Democrats join me in another phone-in fest. Don't miss the hillbilly asswhoopin' our assembled crew strapped on a hapless dildohead.

The last caller wanted to talk about William Ayers. I stopped him cold when I reminded him of birthday greetings sent by McCain in 1995 -- the same year of Ayers' houseparty. McCain good wishes were sent to none other than retired mafia crime boss Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonanno.

New York Times story from 1995. read more »

Limbaugh Misfires On Hillary Prediction

He says -- channelling other rightwingers like Dick Morris -- that she's out to prove what a "mistake" the Democrats made. Did the crowd in Denver get the message? Well, no.

The Big Picture Convention Special 8/25/2008

The "post game show" for the first night of the Democratic National Convention. Kojack joins me for wall to wall phone calls -- including a donnybrook between Kojack and a caller over McCain playing the POW card. Plus a Limbaugh smackdown, when a breaking news story lays waste to one of his Monday talking points. [No show Tuesday. Andy Johnson is covering primary results, and I'm taking the night off.]

Plot Unfolds to Kill Obama

More details emerging from Denver as we write this in the predawn hours on the now-suspected plot to assassinate Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama with a high-powered rifle on national television during his outdoor acceptance speech at Invesco Field on Thursday night. read more »

Limbaugh Gets A Lesson On Who Is "Filled With Rage"

Monday afternoon, Limbaugh said, "the Democrat (sic) Party's sustenance is rage and anger." Monday night, a story broke illustrating who has a "rage and anger" problem. It ain't us. [No show Tuesday. Andy Johnson is covering primary results, and I'm taking the night off.]

Limbaugh Attack On Obama's African Relatives Backfires

He tries a little condescending bigotry based on Obama's impoverished half-siblings. But that just proves that poverty is caused by the social environment. Because at what a difference a middle class upbringing in America has made.

In honor of Tropical Storm Fay, which made landfall about 60 miles south of here about 3 hours before show time, I thought about the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.

Limbaugh Spouts Still More "Trickle Down" Hogwash

Today is Part Two, concluding yesterday's soundbites. In response to more "trickle down," I reprise an old simple illustration of how capitalism really works.
