An easy way to learn any song or dance routine is to split the tune or choreography up into sections. If you learn each section and then put them together it can be easier than learning the whole song or routine in one go. Practising the same steps or the same few lines of a tune until they are easy is a popular way of learning any performance. In fact in most dance choreography and in most songs there will always be some beats, steps or lines repeated so once you know the first lots you already know a lot of the whole song or routine. In a song it is easy to learn each verse separately and then the chorus. And you will find that each dance routine will use sets of beats which are repeated in the choreography
An easy way to lose weight is the best Image via WikipediaI was thinking what it would be like to be really overweight. I have always been quite thin, maybe sometimes out of shape but I do quite a lot of exercise. But when some people try to diet they get obsessive with it and find it really hard they don't like being fat and it depresses them. It's one thing having a large frame or being really curvacious or overweight and happy and another if you don't like it. Well although I don't know from personal experiece here's my advice to anyone whose on a diet or weight loss program. The thing is that a lot of thin people don't eat that much. Well it's not that. You can eat a lot if you like food but if you want to lose weight you have to eat different food to what you're eating. Also you have to do some exercise so the flab turns to muscle as you lose weight but this can be hard for anyone whose fat - cause of the energy involved, being out of breath. The thing is not to eat fattening foods. So you have to cut out your regular cakes, biscuits, sugar, oily fatty foods, fattening takeaways, milkshakes... And that's about it. If you're a cake or pastry lover or eat snacks throughout the day pick the low fat alternatives instead and not so many. There's so many people out there obsessed with health, their body shape and looks so you'll find so many low fat, fat free alternatives you can buy you'd be surprised.
When you go out to dinner for example order a large meal but a non fattening one. Get low fat ingredients, crisps, deserts - yep they even have low fat deserts, milk, cream, the list goes on. Well that's my advice and as for exercise - well start by just doing a bit of exercise every day. Walk around, do a few easy stretches, just don't push yourself, go to an exercise class once a week, something easy to begin with. Again you'd be surprised how many thin lookers out there are totally out of shape, can't breathe, stretch or even jog on the spot for 5 minutes..I've got a wsebsite called Ways to get Fit at http://waystogetfit.googlepages.com There's weight loss and fitness tips there for guys and gals plus building muscle, what kind of exercise to do and some free fitness and workout videos, so check it out for some shaping up ideas.
The summer is a great time to take up some group activities. There are a lot of things going on here in London and I am sure worldwide. If you live in a City, the summer can be quite long and hot and it is nice to go out, make new friends and do something different. Here in London there are a lot of art exhibitions, music festivals around the country and cultural and tourist events going on throught the summer.
If you like roller blading you can go on a weekly skate around Hyde Park and Central London. There's a beginners skate group and a pro one so whatever level you're at it you can join lots of other skaters and go on the group skate. Or if you like jazz, there's some jazz festivals in the parks which are free to go to; or how about going on a canal or city tour; or even going out of London and visiting another city; or going to a music festival?
There are so many things you can do which are also social events and also lots of free evening art gallery launches and new promotions in bars and clubbing events. Just check for flyers and in tourist shops or online at popular tourist websites. See here under the category travel for some more information about places to go and see while you're in London. For some discount theme park entry and other tourist activities like Paintball, see my blog Rainbow Traveller at http://rainbowtraveller.blogspot.com/
In many countries worldwide it is Summer and it is a great time to think about getting fit and in shape. If you're going on holiday use your time abroad to do some exercise. Go swimming, play beach games, go walking, and enjoy the nightlife, clubbing and dancing. You'll find you'll get in shape in no time and all the sun and fresh air helps to make your skin look good as well. Many popular tourist resorts have sports and other activities included in their daily programs. You could go windsurfing, water skiing, paragliding, scuba diving or take a bike or walking tour.
Plus a lot of hotels have fitness and water aerobics classes everyday and even arrange team games like water polo. And if you don't like the idea of doing any exercise on your holiday, just going swimming everyday in the sea or pool will help you get fit. Going out at night and going clubbing is great for keeping in shape, so whatever you do on holiday, you're almost guaranteed to be working out and getting fit!!
Get your music promo pack ready
You also need to do a small promo pack showing the music label or producer what you’ve been doing or plan to do and what’s going on with you as an artist. Write a short paragraph about your music background, do a section for your favorite musicians, bands and singers, list your influences and favorite styles of music. List any upcoming gigs or events where you will be performing. Write a bit about what you would like to do and plan to do as an artist, do you write, just sing, write lyrics, play instruments? Take a few photos as well showing your personality and image. One for a show, one for everyday, one for an album cover. Take as many photographs as you can of your music life, take pics at your latest gig, take pics at the studio, take pics with other musicians, or even on your next road trip. Usually music follows a certain style of fashion and you find that rock stars, r’n’b singers, rappers all have a style so depending on what kind of music you do, your image will most likely fit into this style.
The summer is getting hotter in Europe and there are a lot of things to do and places to see. Temperatures go into the 90's and the beaches are filled with tourists getting suntans. If you hire a car you can find less touristic locations and some paradise beaches. Use your music demo as promotion
You should really have a demo of your music so that you can giveaway a free cd, dvd or mp3 to record labels, record producers or any new music contacts you make. It doens't have to be the best recording, just sound clear and good quality.
The best thing to do is to record a demo of at least 3 songs or clippings from say 3-5 songs you have written or for cover songs you’ve been singing. Or if you only have one song to use, just record that one song. You can even make the recording at home with a good sound card on your computer or cheaply at any recording studio. or you can even record a video at your next gig or show and use this as your demo.
Make a copy of your demo on a cd, keep your songs as mp3's on a small storage card, your phone or ipod, and use this to send to anyones phone or ipod.
Just one verse, or a chorus of a song can be good enough to show a music producer what you can do. If you are trying to get a gig, a demo recording of around 8 songs is better so that the artist or band booker can listen to what the set will sound like. Do a good photo of you or your band and keep it as a jpg, gif on your phone or ipod. Or use it as a cover for your demo cd.
Get ready for music gigs Image by Southernpixel via FlickrIf you’re in a band or want to be a singer or rapper then you should know some songs and or have some of your own songs ready to perform. It doesn’t really matter if you just use your guitar or keys or even sing acapella as long as you have something to show producers and agents if you’re asked. It can be difficult to sing when you’re asked in front of a whole lot of cool music producers and bosses so if you have a few songs ready to sing and perform you can avoid losing your chances if you get stuck and cant remember anything.
Sing and play your favorite tunes in the style you want. You can also sing cover songs and well known tunes in the charts. In fact if you know a few chart hits well you can also get gigs in nightclubs and do a set at different events or even just perform a couple of tracks.
This will earn you a bit of money and you will make more contacts plus get more known in the industry….MORE LATER

Location: Winnipeg Prayer request in the missing person case I was emailed
I would ask for prayer for the family of Evan Trembley. He is a 15 yr old who has been missing for the last two weeks and his family is very scared for him. Normally I do not get these kinds of messages but this is from my close friend with the Salvation Army and considering I love to work with youth and young kids I would pass on this prayer request as I will pray for this family too.
Heavenly and Gracious God, I pray to you this morning for the safe return of Evan Trembley to his family and also that you are with the family as they deal with this very trying incident. I pray too that whereever Evan is at this moment that you will be there with him and keep him safe and also to help bring him home to his loving family. I pray all of this in Your Holy and Mighty name AMEN

Being famous is easy!! Image by smallandround via FlickrEveryone says that dancing, singing or being in the public eye and doing commercials or fashion modeling are the hardest things to do. But I think they are some of the easiest as you can tell if what you do is good. You can hear the song, know if you're in time and look good when you dance and see yourself in photos or on TV. That's what it is about the performing arts you always have other opinions as well. Your audience and fans will love or hate you but it still doesn't matter since you're an artist, you are going to find others who love what you do anyway. It's like everything else, you can get a lucky break or just keep working at it, and if you know someone in the biz then you could already be famous.
Gettin Personal is a blog about blogging, which means it‘s not one of those regular moneymaking blogs with loads of advertising on it (a bit like mine he he!!). With categories on music, photography, travel, work, rants, and many more. The author canadian Shireen confesses she's a weirdo. It's a blog from a personal point of view and reads like a kind of online journal - surprise surprise, but easy to read as well. The layouts great as well and the blog, although quite new, looks like it will be good. She also lists some free blog template themes anyone can use and great contests. Once this blog gets going the author could turn it into a book. There's some nice photos on it too, and the blog reads like a kind of personal look at what’s going on in Shireen’s life - tell us more Shireen. This blog is well worth a visit and if you're on blog catalog, look her up.
2 regular size straws (the ones which bend are the best) Thin colored card Colored Tissue Paper
Cut the colored card into squares depending on what size you want your paper flowers to be Trace the flower bulb shape onto the card and cut out the shape Pierce a hole through the centre Join the 2 straws together by pushing the end of one into the end of the other one (if you’re using bendy straws, then keep the bendy part near the top Leave about 1cm of the straw coming through the other side
Start by passing the colored card flower shape through the hole Scrunch up your tissue paper and unfold again Tear 5 - 10 pieces into square like shapes Then add around 5-10 pieces of cut out paper tissue through the hole They can be the same color or different ones
Once you look at your flower you will see if you need extra pieces or not. Fold the edges and shape the tissue paper until your flower looks how you want. Add some blu tac, or other similar sticky piece to the top, sticking the extra stem part to the flower so you cant see it Cut a small circle shape of card and pass it through the hole Stick small pieces of blu tack at the top of the flower at the back, in the centre of the stem and at the end. Wrap some colored tissue paper around the straw stem, sticking it together with the blu tack
