Photo Finish: Warren Sapp and Michael Phelps in a Race

We already knew Warren Sapp was a heck of a football player. Hey, he even was a bit light on his toes when he placed second on Dancing with the Stars. But Warren Sapp as a swimmer? Sorry, I’m not really buying it.

Well, apparently he was confident in his swimming abilities when he challenged Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps to a swimming race in a Florida pool. Of course, he needed a half a pool-length start. Oddly enough, it was still pretty close.

Check it out for yourself.

Basketball Movie: Dennis Rodman Stars in The Minis

The Minis - Dennis Rodman

Times must be tough for Dennis Rodman.

When you can’t play with the big boys, you might as well play with the little ones. Dwarfs. Don’t call them midgets or you’ll be subject to ankle biting.

Apparently Rodman teamed up with four dwarfs and has made a movie, “The Minis.” The premise is that you follow Rodman and company as they enter a prestigious basketball tournament in Venice Beach, California.

I tried to play a game like this once. But it didn’t last long as the teachers kicked me out the school playground for drinking.

Soon to Be Bust? Reggie Bush Has Another Knee Surgery

Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian

Reggie Bush Jerseys  New Orleans Saints Gear

A bust: pertains to a player who has not lived up to his/her athletic potential.

That term is slowly, but surely getting associated with Reggie Bush. Although he’s put up some good numbers over the years, the Houston Texans are looking more like prophets for drafting Mario Williams ahead of the former Heisman Trophy winner. Especially after this latest set back.

It looks like that left knee of Bush’s is going to give him some more problems and is inching him closer to that horrific title every athlete hopes to avoid. Bush had another surgery on his knee, making it his third procedure. He’s going to need months of rehab, but is expected to be ready for mini-camp in June.

Poor Reggie Bush. Well, good thing he got that nice contract when he entered the league, because from the looks of it, he won’t be getting another one like it. But hey, if he hangs around with Kim Kardashian after his career, maybe he can earn a paycheck then with reoccurring appearances on her show.

Hey, it’s either that or Dancing with the Stars, and that looks to be a long shot. We don’t need him blowing out his knee doing the jitterbug.

Football Video: Kurt Warner Draws Jesus

Kurt Warner

If you know Kurt Warner, then you know he’s a fairly religious man. Hey, more power to him. I’m down with J.C. too.

Apparently he felt the need to draw what he thought God looked like. I’m not going to bash him on his artistic skills, only because I’m afraid to have a bolt of lightning strike me between the eyes, but lets just say Warner is much better throwing touchdowns then creating masterpieces. His rendition of God looks like the drummer from Def Leopard.

OW! There’s that lightning bolt.

I wonder when Warner prays at night, which Jesus does he prays too? If it’s adult Jesus or Little Baby Jesus in his little golden, fleece diapers.

Flattened! Chris Clemons Pancakes Tarvaris Jackson

 Chris Clemons

If you didn’t tune into the Philadelphia Eagles/Minnesota Vikings game yesterday, then shame on you. But also if you didn’t, you missed out on perhaps one of the best pancakes I’ve seen all season. Chris Clemons happened to bring the pain to Tarvaris Jackson.

Here is a short clip of why quarterbacks should only throw the ball and try not to tackle or block.

A Year to Remember: Your Favorite Moment of 2008

Matt Leinart

This past year has been one to remember. So much has happened in the world of sports, that it’s hard to pinpoint just one event that stands above all else in 2008. From the supposed affair between Madonna and A-Rod to the continued story of Roger Clemens and steroids. Also, who would have thought back in spring training the Philadelphia Phillies would have won the World Series. Philly never wins anything! I know this because I’ve been a Philly fan my entire life.

So, in remembering 2008, why don’t you tell us what your favorite sports moment of 2008 was. For instance, one thing that stands out for me is Matt Leinart’s incident that involved a former boy bander, hot tub, girls under-21 and a beer bong.

So please, feel free to share!

Come Home! Baron Davis Wants to Go Back to the Warriors

Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson

Golden State Warriors Gear  Baron Davis Jerseys

This comes as no shocker to me.

According to the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Jackson, his former teammate Baron Davis wishes he had never left the team and wants back. And just like everyone else who’s been on the Clippers, he wants to be traded.

Apparently Davis must have been sleep walking when he thought it was a great thing that he was going to Los Angeles when he was signed as a free agent. And then apparently he woke up recently and realized it was to the Clippers and not the Lakers.
