Live Luggage
On the Live Luggage website, this quote is given: “How is it we put a man on the moon 40 years before the idea of power assisted luggage”.
To be honest, I don't know why we never tried to market automated wheels on suitcases before. The Live Luggage also has “anti-gravity handles”, and the power will last about 2 hours. I am assuming that it is charged by hooking it to the wall.
I don't travel much, so I don't think I could justify a purchase of the Live Luggage, as it costs about $1,365.25. However, for those who live and die in the airport, this could make your sojourn a lot less burdensome.

JVC LCD Flat Panel is Bigger, Lighter, Better
JVC is hitting the streets soon with new, large, light, and sexy flat screen monitors. These 1080p monitors come in 42-inch and 46-inch varieties. Now, what makes these monitors special? Check out these specs:
- The 42 inch monitor weighs in at 12kg (about 26.5 pounds)
- The 42 inch unit only consumes 145W of energy (a fraction of the normal amount)
- The unit is only 39mm (1.5 inches) deep at the edge and 74mm (about 3 inches) at its center
- Both unites feature a 1920 x 1080p resolution
- They both are viewable from nearly any angle
- They both feature built in tuners
The JVC 1080p monitors are coming stateside in July, but there are no details on price. Unfortunately, with those kind of specifications, I can't assume that they will be cheap. But, if you are looking for an large, ultra-light LCD panel that is perfect for wall mounting, then these are probably what you are looking for.

Genius Touch Speaker System
Considering how many of our devices are touchscreen, I guess it was a mater of time before they ended up on our speaker system.
A company appropriately named Genius has come up with the SP-T1200 speaker system that has a touch panel screen to control volume, bass, and treble. These speakers are compact and can produce a 30-watt sound, which is perfect for laptop owners.
You should be able to purchase the SP-T1200 at many sites for about $99.

Over 1 Billion Computers Served
How many computers do you represent? Depending how you count, I could be half a dozen. I have 3 at home, an iphone, a desktop at work, a PS3 and a Wii. Even if you don't count the gaming systems and the iphone, I am still 4 computers. That makes me a small part of the 1 billion computers now in use across the globe.
Research firm Gartner says the number will double to 2 billion by 2014. That is a lot of new computers. Gartner also estimates that this year alone, 35 million computers will end up in landfills. The problem there is that many computer parts are toxic, and with millions of them filling holes in the ground, much of that toxicity could leach into the soil.
What Gartner didn't say is what we should do about all of this? Do you have any hints or suggestions on what to do? Have you recycled a computer or disposed of it properly? I would love to hear about your experiences. Sound off in the comments and let me know.
