As you may have noticed, we’ve moved from blogger to wordpress. The reason we moved is quite simple, we feel that wordpress will better facilitate our needs. So update your bookmarks and tell your friends. Our .com domain will be up and running shortly, in the meantime - feel free to drop us a comment, send us an e-mail or just have a gander.
Here is a mix from one of our local Melbourne lads who goes by the name Dutchee. He is a cool cat no doubt and when he kindly asked if we could post his mix, we went hhmmmmm... yes!
You can catch Dutchee spinning records down at eve tonight alongside out own favourites Glass Mirrors if any of you Melbournites are looking for any onewordfish action.

Sorry about the delay, I was having pretty major problems with divshare. All good now though. Also, this will be the last post you see from me until next Sunday, but not to worry.. Paul is still here - and I'm sure his concocting something beautiful.
Busta Rhymes & T.I - Hurt (Chew Fu Refix) Chew Fu is notorious for biting into decent r&b songs and spitting them out 300 times better and if your a sucka for good rhymes with a nice glossy beat like me, definitely download this. palmsout usually feature Chew Fu's tracks in their "Remix Sunday" posts, so get over there. Expect a massive post on Chew when I come back!
Ice Cube - You Can Do It (Bass Kleph Bootleg) "Bass Kleph writes the kind of tracks where the whole club does a double take, then bum rushes the DJ to find out what the F##K is this?!?. It’s a dirty, bouncy, quirky, sexy, sensory assault of less is more Tech/Electro. A mash of straight beats, and break beats, big bass and house treats. It’s that… well it’s that Bass Kleph sound" Lee Mortimer - About The Ghetto Sleazy and deep. Two words that come to mind while I was listening to this. You can grab Lee's new EP (Out December 1st on Jack Union) "Kinda Hip". Visit junodownload.com. How can I not post somebody repping Jack union?
Dave Gahan - Use You (Kap10Kurt remix) Kap10kurt shouldn't really need an introduction. You should all recognize him by now, or at least his beefed up bass lines, old school rave synths and vintage hand claps. You can tell 20 seconds in the track is going to be great. The vocals top it off.
Captain Phoenix - Pistols & Hearts (Bloody Beetroots remix) I'll admit, when I first encountered the Italian noise bandits The Bloody Beetroots - I wasn't overly impressed. But lately I've been scanning the net trying to find anything and everything they've ever touched. This track working tandem with their latest mix featuring El Crookers has easily turned me into a high tempo'd twittering distortion loving punk. My favorite song at the moment.
Whilst browsing through my favorite blogs I stumbled upon a post concerning the cool cats known as X & Y or Glass Mirrors. Hailing from France, these club kids are really getting into a groove lately, crafting some very fine tracks. I have featured these fly guys before, but I thought now might be time to revist them. I'm assuming they like to keep to themseles, because I cannot find anything on these boys, and nobody else seems to be able to either. All we have is a myspace... we want more!
They are currently remixing Danger - 9h20 (currently out on ekleroshock), which they have posted a demo of on their (quite sparse...) myspace.
From what I have been told this is an early demo and still requires a lot of work, but to my ears it is still quite a cool track. Obviously requires some work, however it gets into a bit of a groove from around the half way mark.
They are currently residing in Australia, producing some music for their upcoming EP, and we hear they played an undisclosed set in Melbourne recently. So check out the remix on their myspace and any of you promoter types out there try and get these guys playing more whilst they are in town, we at the fish love them. www.myspace.com/glassmirrorsmusic
Welcome to the land where an abrasive bass line, crooked beats and futuristic synths bring us to our knees no matter the listening quality. I don't apologize for the quality, nor should they. We should be grateful they have the time to churn this shit out.
A substantial amount of the music you probably would have heard, but not to worry - the new stuff is soon to blossom. My head almost imploded at 20:54 (shortly after the mammoth climax)
If this doesn't tease you to the point of insanity, I know what you need. You need a taste of the Crookers upcoming EP "Knobbers" on Southern Fried. You can listen to it here.
Introducing the fine young love that is Tybalt. He has some very cool remixes around. Tybalt has really turned out a nice remix of this Damn Arms favourite, which has a very nice groove to it that chugs along nicely. Here are two remixes.
Damn Arms - Edie (Tybalt remix) Cut Off Your Hands - Closed Eyes (Tybalt remix)
Tybalt will have some original tracks out in early 2008 so keep an eye out.
After the awesomeness of the Daft Punk Alive Tour hitting Australian shores earlier this month, we thought that we would reintroduce some of their older material that some of you mayor may not be familiar with. Apart from Thomas Bangalter's Roule releases, Daft Punk issued a A/B side way back in 1994, before Da Funk was initially released, and before Homework made its way onto stereo systems around the world.
Introducing the very awesome Maral Salmassi, who has a unique sound that we are in love with here at the fish.
This German girl is a production genius and let's face it... a very sexy lady. She is all we could want in a woman, she's sexy, she DJs, she produces and raps. What more could anyone ask for!
She concocts a fine blend of electro-hop some vintage flavours, with a modern booty shaking dancefloor twist. And those are just her originals!
A number of great German artists have been commissioned on remix duties, which only serves to enhance her skills with their different styles. We are very happy to feature her on the blog, and here we present some of her rocking tracks.
There is also a Ben Mono remix of Natural Fun, but we much prefer the Zero Cash version. The Trashtalk remix of Back Up Your Ass is an absolute monster, we suggest you listen right now!
And may we start by deleting and retracting our post on a certain DJ that we had posted, we never realised he was this bad. We read up a little, now we know. So do not expect anymore posts on this guy, we were simply misinformed here at the fish.
Not at all to our tastes, and to be honest, we did not even write that post, had a guest author take the rains over the Christmas holiday, in that hope that we would at least have some content up here for you.
Seems we made a bad choice in this kid, and we take the comments of our readers seriously, so expect no more of this rubbish up here.
If anyone that actually does play good music would like to contribute a mix to our page we would appreciate it immensely. We want no more of this immature rubbish on our site.
So to our guest author, it may be pretty obvious, but in case you have not yet realized as it appears you are impossibly unintelligent from your last post, we do not want you back for further posts.
We are only interested in good music here at ONEWORDfish, so any DJs that may read this blog, send us your mixes, and if they are better than this last DJ's mixes, which shouldn't be difficult, we will consider posting them. We have no affiliation with the DJ in question, and we would hope that we can continue posting music without any further incidents such as the recent one.
So if you are willing to contribute as an author, is it to much to ask that you have some quality material to offer? We think not. Thanks so much fishes for watching us back-pedal like never before, and we will post some GOOD music soon.
Sweetheart here, just letting you all know what is going on in the world of us fish.
We have a new dotcom domain, and we are organising a new layout, new authors and heaps of new goodies, including a record label and music distribution service for our artists, which will be available through this page and a number of well known and established portals.
We will also have a weekly production post, giving production tips for budding electronic music producers. Running parallel to that, we will have a weekly post showcasing a hot new producer each week. We will also have our graphics artists showcase their wares in a series of posts highlighting the indvidual style of you artistic kiddies out there. We are also running a section for upcoming and unsigned bands, showcasing the underground talent that a lot of dance music fans are not within easy reach of. This is on top of the Les Airs post already in place, and all of these sections are open to outside artists, both audio and graphics, so send us your material and if we like it we will post it.
We have a number of parties coming in the next few months, including our launch party, which should be very interesting, and will feature the ONEWORDfish DJs, as well as many special guests, including a number of international and interstate guests, such as Glass Mirrors (FRANCE) and many more. Once this layout and business side of things is set up, expect some serious posting from us. We will have our original tracks availale for download from our own stable of artists soon.
