Kimora is an advocate of women believing in themselves and reaching beyond the limits set by society. In her book Fabulosity she says ‘ I think most women are hampered by the beauty standard in our culture. For me, traveling and seeing stunning women all over the world broadened my definition of beauty and gave me new ways to see myself. If you can’t get on a plane, find images of women you relate from much more diverse sources than BET and American fashion magazines. I’m talking the voluptuous women in paintings from 200 years ago! African American women in tribal jewellery in National Geographic! Frida Kahlo! Cut out the pictures and make your own inspiration board. Feed your eyes with a richer diet than models and actors.’ Her own advice to aspiring fabulites ‘Fake it till you make it!’
