We only sell premium futon covers.

What makes one product better than another?

If it is dipped in chocolate? Comes in your favorite color? Better quality? Because Paris Hilton or any celeb de jour has one? The country of origin? More comfortable? Doesn’t leave a huge dent in the wallet?

Here at JustFutonCovers.com, we don’t have any fancy extras. Except for the totally awesome cool reusable zippered vinyl bag each cover is packaged in. We just have futon covers. Sorry if the name threw you off at all, but it’s the truth. But the covers that we do have are better. And here’s why.

In this day and age, it seems to be the exception rather than the rule when products are made in America. Not in our case though…all our covers are created here in the good ole U S of A.

It’s difficult to keep furniture looking fresh and new, which is just another bonus of the covers found on here. All are made with color fast fabric and can be machine washed. In terms of the fabric, it is a heavier weight fabric than most. If you wanted a cover that’s as thick as a sheet, please shop somewhere else, because our covers are not that thin.

Another important feature of a great futon cover is the zipper. Remember how annoying it was having to deal with zippers that weren’t quite right on your coat when you were a little kid? Rest assured, our zippers simply don’t do that. They are marine grade reinforced. A handy feature is that center line zipper allows for the mattress to be flipped or used on both sides without having to remove the cover.

So, to review: not only do you get an American made, durable, washable, high quality futon cover for less, you get a nifty zippered vinyl bag too. Isn’t the Internet great?

Twin, Full, Queen, Ottoman, or Loveseats?

Like that old saying, “measure twice, cut once”…in the world of online retail it’s important to “measure twice, click once.” While you probably know by now how to measure for yourself, how do you measure for a futon?

Arguably the biggest challenge in shopping is not being able to physically have the object in front of you. Shopping online allows you to shop in the comfort of your home, clothing optional, compare prices instantly, and the ability to visit multiple stores within minutes, not hours.

The whole appeal of suffering through getting dressed, driving to the mall, walking around for hours with twelve year old girls in packs of fifty, and agonizing if those jeans really do make your hips look big, is that you can know that your purchase is what you were looking for.

Besides being disappointed in material or color, the biggest reasons for returns are because of the purchase being the wrong size. To prevent the hassle of returning a purchase online, there are a few simple steps that can be taken to ensure a proper fit.

To measure correctly, adjust the futon into bed style, or remove the mattress and lay it on the floor. Use the chart below to figure out what size will be ideal for your new cover:

Twin: 39” width by 75” length

Full: 54” width by 75” length

Queen: 60” width by 80” length

Ottoman: 21” width by 28” length

Loveseat: 54” width by 54” length

Loveseat Ottoman: 54” width by 21” length

and voila! you have your size. But wait, there’s more. Futon mattresses are not all created equal, some are big and fluffy while others are slim and more compact. This is called the “loft size.” Our futon covers are made to fit the average 6-8″ thick mattress, however, custom loft sizes are available if you call us at (800) 251-3638. So remember–when buying a new mattress cover–measure not only the length and width, but the thickness as well. Happy clicking!

Black futon covers and you.

Purportedly started by the late Coco Chanel, the little black dress (or LBD) trend has spanned for decades for many reasons:

Fashionable yet functional, pretty but plain, classic and classy.

For these same reasons, it is only natural that every futon should have a little black cover in its closet. What other color is chic, hides spills, and is slimming at the same time? Black covers can go with just about any room (although if your current décor is brown shag carpeting and wood paneled walls, you might want to consider updating more than your futon cover). A black cover will also compliment any frame, regardless of wood or metal persuasion.

Do the math:

Futon plus dress equals heart.

Another bonus feature of having a black futon cover is–just like an LBD–it’s easy to accessorize. By having a black futon cover, pillows or throws in bright colors will have greater prominence and really spice up a room. Another option to make your black futon look like it just stepped off the runway is with white pillows that have a texture, pattern, or embellishment. Dress up your futon properly and it will be looking posh in no time.

Purple Futon Covers and such.

A symbol of royalty and wealth, purple has been associated with ancient civilizations such as the Minoans, Phoenicians, and Romans. The first ingredient thought to be used to obtain the color came from snails. More specifically, the Murex trunculus’s murex trunculussecretions of mucus were used to dye fabrics. (JustFutonCovers.com does not use snail snot to color our covers, honest)

There are numerous synonyms for purple- just look in a crayon box. Some common names include amethyst, lavender, violet, orchid, plum, and heliotrope. A mix of red and blue, purple can be very different depending on the amount of these colors used in the mix. Throw in a dab of black or splash of white and the shade can change drastically to deep royal purple or to soft lavender.

Purple futon covers can go with a variety of colors and themes. The direct contrast of purple is yellow, and some designers might say to avoid pairing these colors. If done with the right shades, and right amounts, yellow can really ‘pop’ against purple. Try using accents in red and gold, found in things like a tapestry for a backdrop, pillows with embellishments, or a funky throw to give your futon a fun, Indian-royalty vibe. Or use a purple cover to support your team, whether that be the Horned Frogs, Tigers, or Lakers.

Whatever your personal preference, purple is a fun color to consider that can brighten any home.

Brown Futon Covers rock!

Running strong for the past couple seasons as ‘the new black’, brown can be seen in a variety of places where just a few short years ago it would not have dared venture. Home décor is no exception to this trend.

One of the most popular ways dark brown is seen comes with it paired with a shade of light blue, and in many paisley designs:

A brown futon cover can really help bring a room together, complimenting neutral walls, carpeting, and/or furniture. Keeping a natural color scheme in the room is an easy way to express your preference for Mother Earth in your own home. Accessories can be found to keep the vibe ‘au natural’ such as photographs of nature scenes, dried flowers that have been framed, or live plants.

Natural futon covers act… natural.

Decorating in lighter colors is helpful in keeping a room looking larger than it is. Unlike white, which can be difficult to keep clean, natural colored futon covers are an excellent alternative. Natural can still go with any color scheme, yet is easier to keep the color looking fresh and still can hide dirt.

Natural can be paired with darker accessories in colors like brown, green, black or other earth tones to give the room a fresh look.  Using neutral covers against colorful, textured, or painted walls will help keep the room from being overwhelming to the eye.

A functional addition to your futon that is easy to find in matching color is an ottoman. Purposeful if you’re inclined to put your feet up after a long day of work, these can be found at most furniture stores in a range of styles and colors. While natural is a color that is easy to find, it’s also the perfect addition to your new natural futon cover as well.

Envy our hunter green futon covers.

Originally named for the ‘manly’ activity of hunting, many homes now incorporate hunter green for decorating. Back in the old days, when the men folk went out to hunt, their attire would be a darker shade of green to help them blend into their surroundings (think of it as the earliest concept camouflage). So the name evolved from hunter’s green to hunter green.

With many paintings or other home décor accessories incorporating a nature setting of some sort, a green futon cover such as ours is a great compliment. Focusing on light colored walls will make a room appear larger, using a darker piece of furniture will help prevent the room from looking monochrome.

So if you have any of the following themes, items, or colors in the room where your futon also resides, spruce things up with a hunter green cover and you’ll be the envy of all:  Forest, Beige, Ivy/Foliage, Burgundy, Camouflage, Plants, Browns, Nature photographs or paintings, and Wine.
