Does your man love golf and travelling?

It's not easy travelling with golf clubs. They are a big and heavy item, and bulky, and expensive, and not the sort of thing you want broken often.

It's not enought to just zip up the golf bag and put it on a plane, there's been so many stories of golf clubs lost, broken, stole, or something else happening, like all the balls going missing.

No problem, because I think that a good golf travel case is a fine gift for a man who love to golf and travel. A golf travel case is a case into which he puts his golf clubs, and usually his golf bag as well. It is closed up, or better still completely locked, and is perfect to put on the plane.

There's 2 types of golfers travel case. There's the soft travel case which, as the name suggests, is made of soft material. It should be padded inside though, and ideally should come with small wheels so that he can pull it through airports and hotel lobbies, though often they can be a little difficult to pull.

Then there's the hard golf travel case. Again as the name suggests, it's made of hard material like molded polyethylene plastic, and offers total protection to his clubs. Usually, though not always he puts his entire golf bag into the hard case.

They are usually almost indestructible, and it is sometimes claimed that they can be dropped from the plane and the clubs will still survive. The best ones even offer free golf club insurance in the event that the golf clubs are damaged on the flight.There are advantages and disadvantages to both types. The soft cases offer less protection but are less expensive, and easier to store. The soft cases can be ideal if he just travels a lot by car for example, butnot ideal for plane travel.

The hard cases offer total protection but are expensive and a ………. to store. These are the ones usually used by professional golfers because they make their living with their clubs.

Whichever type you think would suit his needs, if he's a golfing man and loves to travel with his golf clubs then consider a golf travel case for him. It makes a fine gift idea. You can buy soft cases for under $100, and hard cases for more than that.

Yesterday I wrote about custom logo golf balls.

They're a fine gift idea. Just work out your logo or slogan, order a dozen and you've got a good gift for a golfer.

But today I was looking for something for a sports fan and was looking at logo golf balls again. Not custom logo golf balls, just preprinted golf balls with the logos of favorite teams.

Lets say he's a Boston Red Sox fan, and he loves golf. How about giving him a 3 pack of logo golf balls with the Red Sox logo on them? Not expensive, just $10 and it's a great idea.

If you don't know what a logo golf ball is, then you're in for a treat. A logo golf ball is a golf ball that has a special logo, pharase slogan or anything else on it.

Like his photo, or yours. Yes you can do that. It's quite possible to find companies that will print a golf ball with a logo or phrase or photo on it.

You get to choose the golf ball, and you have a choice from amongst a wide range of ball brands. But not just brands, you can choose from amongst many of their models as well. So,for example, if he loves golf but isn't the greatest golfer, or perhaps you're not up to spending a lot at the moment, go for a more budget golf ball like a Callaway or a Top Flite. You can get a dosen printed up for around $30 or $40.

Or, if he's a top golfer, or you feel like giving him the best then why not a Titleist logo golf ball like the Titleist Pro V1x, or perhaps the Pro V1. At up to almost $100 it's more expensive, but you're giving him some great golf balls.

You can choose not only the golf ball, but your own logo or slogan, print it on one or both sides, choose a color and design, and even put a photo on the ball.

Great artwork is wonderful. By artwork I mean paintings and drawings, I know there's lots of other things that are artwork as well, but I just love paintings and drawings. And I've written about elephant paintings before.

I just figure that if you're going to get him something arty then why not go for something completely different?

How about Australian aboriginal artwork? Very different indeed, in fact quite unique.

The Australian aboriginal culture goes back tens of thousands of years, and they have produced an extremely unique and distinctive style of artwork that I love.

You can see quite a few examples that I've put up here. Very different from what you're used to seeing I bet. And Australian aboriginal artwork is getting hot on the international art market, with some pieces going for huge prices, so it may be a good investment as well, although if you're buying for that reason you need to do some more homework.

But I just love the look and the style. So if your man is into art why not something to take his breath away that's totally different.
