The 2008 World Car Of The Year Finalists Are...
In about two to three weeks from now, the auto industry will be closing the auto show season with a grand finale -- the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) Awards at the New York International Auto Show. The WCOTY Awards is divided into three categories: the 2008 World Car, the 2008 World Performance Car and, finally, the 2008 World Green Car. Public show dates are on March 21 to 30.

Lexus To Debut 'High-Efficiency' Hybrid

BMX X6 To Debut in Detroit
The German automaker will make 2008 NAIAS as the world debut of its X6 Sports Activity Coupe. According to BMW, the X6 will be the first Sports Activity Coupe model in the automotive market. The vehicle will feature two powertrain variants - the xDrive50i and the xDrive35i.


Dodge Introduces the Tuned Out Guy

Ford will not kill Mercury
In a meeting with reporters, Ford's CEO Allan Mullaly responded to the question of whether their Mercury brand has a future. Other than Mullaly, executives from Ford have not released their comments about the future products for the struggling division. Mercury has not brought profit to Ford in the last few years. Sales are spectacular for Lincoln Mercury and in some areas, Lincoln Mercury has been growing faster than Ford announced the CEO.

Ford conceptualizes Airstream
Wow! Ford’s Advanced Design team has come up with a futuristic Airstream concept, which has seats for seven and a plug-in hydrogen hybrid fuel cell for power. The Airstream concept has a roof-hinged, power clamshell door that runs two-thirds the measure of the body's length. A plug-in hydrogen hybrid fuel cell powers this future crossover. It is the same plug-in hydrogen fuel cell drivetrain that is currently used in a Ford Edge prototype that has been developed at Ford's research facility.

And you are just right, the GMC TopKick 6500 pickup is planned to be on a production as the GM Tuner. This is perhaps more exciting than the movie itself.


NASCAR Cup: Lenox Industrial Tools 300 Results
The recent Lenox Industrial Tools 300 that took place at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon was dominated by Chevrolet drivers. Denny Hamlin, driver of the No. 11 Fed Ex Ground Chevrolet Impala SS took his car up to the finish and bagged his 1st win this season. Meanwhile, NASCAR point leader Jeff Gordon followed Hamlin into the podium and took the 2nd place. All of the top 8 finishers in the race were all aboard a Chevrolet vehicle.
