Slipknot is punk
Ok you fuckers. With the newer generation punks claiming
to be 'punk' or 'hardcore' or whatever. WTF? I thought punk was
about a bunch of misfits joining together. Instead today, it is a bunch
of wanking poseurs trying to be 'alternative'. What a bunch of fucking
pussies. Instead, we get the true mistits of today getting spat on,
laughed at, or whatever 'cause they wear some band shirt that ain't
cool. I guess that means they are the true misfits. Instead of you
fucking wankers "SO CALLED PUNKS' born since the late 70's, You guys
are the destroyers of what i truly believed iun. FUCK YOU!!! I truly
think fans of Slipknot/Cradle of Filth/Dimmu Birger are more punk than
you. Losers.

The demise is near....
With the recent crap going down in SAN
BERNARDINO at the Ozzfest makes me wonder about ego and money. As I
learn about the conspired tossing of crap at Iron Maiden during their
last Ozzfest set, what has happened to the Osbournes?
Is it the monery? Ego? I have no idea but it would no surprise as the
kind of crap that went down in terms of a potenential pre-meditated
attack on Maiden. As being a loyal, long term fan of SABBATH, I would
be truly disappointed if they let the likes of Sharon Osbourne destroy
this legendary band with the postings of "Before
there was Samson there was SABBATH!" at the the Ozzfest site makes me
sick to my stomach. Listen Sharon: there was Sabbath before you. As a
result, she appears to be the equivelant of Yoko Ono destroying the
Beatles. I hope not. I still think Maiden blew the doors off all the
bands at Ozzfest as per my previous review. Also, it does not help when
you charge $50K for certain bands to play last year's fest when I even
had to wait for my ad dollar checks for 9+ months because of it. Sharon
is quite smart at making money and milking what she can get out of her
TV shows and Ozzfest. Now she seems to want to milk want she can get
out of Sabbath. Please let it stop. Onto other stuff....
My what an exciting weeked of Aug 21 was with the cancellation of
Hellfest. Now i hear about this moron promoting guy making a
terror out of the venue's parking lot during proposed dates with the
festival's bus. Wow! Did the money get to the promoters as well? I feel
bad for the kids and sponsors who could potentially be out of pocket.
This really puts a black eye on the finger nail painting hardcore
scene. I smell a demise of this scene on the way. Wait until RED
Distro clears their catalog with the 'underperforming' labels within 2
years.
So does all this make the corporate metal/cock rock scenesters look all that bad. I guess not huh?

NEW ONLINE STORE!!
Our new online store is up by clicking here
Hellfest again
yes i have confirmation from a number of labels that there were money problems like $30K guarantee for Public Enemy and $500K for other band booking obligations. these are only rumors of course but the labels i sourced out have no reasons to lie to me since i have a longer relationship than the promoters. it appears the promoter (NOT the venue) were the problem by biting on more they can chew. anyhow, i would hope that these dirt bags give the kids their money back. it is really lame how this went down especially for the promoters to make the venue look bad and blaming the local people. the worst part is by posting their contact info on their site. don't they know they are up for a law suit from such people and badmouthjing the venue? wow!! i thought it would never come to this.
Law of Inertia dead?
huh? is LOI dead? probably....check it out:

My comments are this: First off, any magazine that can generate 3000 subscribers off one band I know nothing about seems to make me laugh louder than the world's fattest hyena. I got over 7 million impressions thanks to the nice people at Music Choice when Snaggletooth launches, it generated over 600 subs. Next, 75000 copies? Serious?? What the fuck you selling LOI for? It sounds like to me it would be a license to print money. Also, if it was 75,000 copies, how come i can't find it in any over 20+ stores in in 10 minute radius of my downtown home. I can find more of my mag ( i am about half that) and even Punk Planet which is 1/7th of that. Makes me wonder once again. It seems you have given too muchad space away to look like you got Hurley advertising. I used to do that when I started. Fuck.....me thinks......LOI is dead. Oh yeah....those dudes at Fiddler? Are they not the same folks that took 6 months to pay a $150 half page ad? Screw 'em. They are one of the many labels I have blacklisted and never deal with again. Fuckers.
Also, please don't follow me to my next distro if I change. It does not leave a positive impression. Thanks for not caring.
att dave/"UR MUM"
LATE responses but never later than never:
FOR DAVE:
Did BLS perform ???? Any word on there set ? Congrats on the 100th issue of Caustic Truths. Dave
Yes BLS played. I ssaw them last. Nothing different this year except new material. Sorry but i am not a guitar player. I respect the band and his ethiics, but I personally think there were better bands. BLS fans are pretty big at all the Ozzfests I have been which are only 2. Thanks for the words about our 100th.
For UR MUM:
u r so shit u shitface. ur not funny and ur a fat mole June 24 7:28 AM
My mom does not type like that you piece of turd. Go back to watching MTV you MF-er!!!!! Let me know the next trend you wanna-be.
decline of hell fest and hc music
as we all know hellfest got cancelled. boo hooo! to the promoters: give the kids back their money and take your losses like men. you have whored the scene to the point that mtv and fuse play like it was nsync. hc/metal core has become so boring that when i saw poison the well at sounds of the underground, it became such a HUGE disappointment and were laughed at. i personally think they will be dropped by Atlantic and the purging will start. remember that PTW were the first underground band to sign to a label so i would not be surprised ther will be the first to go. also, if Thrice disappoints, the scene could shrink. who knows? who care? just keep the tunes rolling.

wehatedancemusic's Podcast
We are now adding ourselves into tonnes of Blog directories. Wow. This should be fun!!!
Iron Maiden/Mastadon
I did see Maiden again wth the same energy spewed out during Ozzfest.
It was a way longer set with a HUGE (I mean HUGE) response from the
Toronto crowd. I personally don't think I have ever seen a response
like that in VERY, VRY long time for a band. It is not unknown that
T.O. does like their Maiden. As for Mastadon, these guys were dwarfed
by the huge stage and crap sound. THey managed to pull it off but
unfortunately did not prolong my attention due to the overwhelming
production problems. It did appear a good chunk of the crowd were there
to see this opener.

Ozzfest the review
Went to Buffalo to party with the low key lot of Buffalo. Anyhow, the
real highlight was definitly Iron Maiden as they rocked the place.
Sabbath was boring compared to last year with virtually the same set.
No interation between the band so there was no excitement but they
still blew away all the 'newer' bands. The only band that was worthy
writing about was As I Lay Dying as Killswitch's sound quality was not
up to par as the album. Mayb\e they been on the road too long?
Continiung along, In Flames, Shadows Fall just did carry over on a
large stage so so they could not quite live up to the hype compared to
a smaller club. Mudvayne stook out like a sore thumb as being the new
nu-er metal band so they did not come off to well.Mastadon and White
Zombie were quite good in terms of sound qualirty. Twelve Dozen Furies
just tried to hard. All the other bands I misseed. Sorry. I will be
questioning if i go next year now compared to 2005 and 2004. I am
getting a little burnt from these fests.
Oh no...I will now send my kid writers to go see Warped in Barrie.

Fall stuff being worked on now (Geez)
What can i say? We already pretty well complete with our Sept issue of
Caustic Truths #101 and now working on the Oct issue of Snaggletooth

wave.

Jim marshall
Wow. Just did an interview with Dr Loud, Jim Marshall, of Marshall amps. Expect an awesome interview in the next issue.

Sounds of The Underground the review
Did you know that Sounds of The Underground is pretty good? Highlight bands include Clutch,SYL, and Unearth. Bands that bit large was Poison the Well, Norma Jean, and Everytime I Die. Sorry guys, you are boring as hell that few kids could care less for. Throwdown was not bad straight up hardcore but nothing setllar. It was a better set than usual. Opeth was too complex for my tastes. Chimaira was not so bad with a pretty good presence and tightness. The missed band was High On Fire which apparently was the best band on the bill. I did not hear about Red Chord or Devildriver. I am sure i forgot someone but a good fest all around for the money. Next fest is Ozzfest in Buffalo. See you then
